The under 19 Championships will be in PA in mid-September, check usaboxing.org. Also, there is plenty of action in New England, check out Ring99.com and especially the forum there, there's always people looking for amateurs for shows.
However...listen to your coach.

Why is that? I'm 21 anyway. I was thinking of just turnin pro anyway without amature experience. I know I would get killed but I don't have the mental capacity to train for a year for a fight that I may or may not have. I already have had 2 scheduled amature fights, one back in Dec. 99 and one last June but the first time I got my nose broke sparring 2 days before the fight and the second time the athletic commision wouldn't let me fight because I didn't have 2 forms of ID. So now i'm thinking of just srewin it and going pro even though its almost a death sentance. Especialy since I weigh 140 lbs, wich is the most talented division in the sport right now, But if I don't do something soon I'm never going to.
