Shabranskyy returns on April 15

Post by Freedom2013 »

GBP has announced Shabranskyy vs Findley.

It will likely be televised by Estrella TV. The main event will be Karass vs Kamegai which is sure to be an entertaining fight.

Findley is a tough journeyman who has a win over Fonfara, but I'd like to see Shabranskyy in with someone more meaningful like Chilemba, Cleverly, Pascal or Ward in June or July.

How will fighting a MW journeyman bring him any closer to a LHW title fight ?

It's just a stay-busy fight.

Hopefully Shabranskyy will be in with a more meaningful opponent next time out.

Findley used to be a middleweight. Many boxers move up as they get older. Did you know Kovalev fought at middleweight in the amateurs in his mid-20s?

Findley fought Arif Magomedov last year, not in mid-20s.

Whatever. He didn't put up much of a fight tonight.

What's important is that Shabranskyy fight a meaningful opponent (Chilemba, Browne, Ward, Fonfara, Stevenson, Alvarez, Pascal, Cleverly) in his next fight.

Problem is a lot of light heavys are with PBC. Saw this guys fight with Gonzalez and he looks solid I'd rather he fight another opponent of that calibre to gain credibility rather than being slung in with kovalev.

Yes. I'd like to see him fight someone respectable but not elite, like Chilemba or Barrera (both with Main Events) or maybe Pascal, before going in with Kovalev.
