Feel for this guy this morning -IMO he should be waking up with the Lonsdale belt as the new British lightweight champion.
I and the great majority of last nights crowd thought he was robbed and not for the first time !

Post fight his attitude was remarkable given such a controversial decision had been given against him . He is a real gentleman and a credit to the sport.

Joe Gallagher in the opposite corner celebrated the draw as if he had a new world champion !
Similar tactics to the quigg / frampton fight in that Cardle hardly threw a punch for over half the fight . Plenty of nice footwork on show but more suited to an audition for the diversity dance troupe! .
Scott Cardle did himself no favour afterwords either - a cheap dig about a "small hall fighter" .
That small hall fighter had the better of him in two fights yet he walks away with the belt.

That result does the sport no favours . Shameful . :brick:

I'm with you on this one, I thought Dodd was very good last night - his jab was very strong. His post interview was very good as well, he has showed in the last 2 fights he has a lot of heart and is nice guy. When the question was asked to Cardle about if a 3rd fight would happen, he seemed reluctant - as so he should.

I felt the Fielding decision was quite bad as well. I had Rebrasse by a round or two, I felt he was troubling Fielding much more than Fielding troubling Rebrasse.

W@rren could bring him over to B0xNati0n to face Stalker, Evans or Romaeo on his Liverpool card if Cardle doesn't want the rematch.
Hearn could give him Coyle or Sykes on the Bellew undercard.
Plenty of options for Dodd, he' a ticket seller and fun to watch, with or without Cardle he will be fine...

I had Dodd by 2 rounds. I don't think we will see a 3rd fight. Matchroom pushing Campbell towards a shot and talking it up and heard a rumour former English champ kev hooper is going to b made mandatory by the board. Can see matchroom using Dodd with their other lightweights as the amount tickets he does

I think this showed just how limited Cardle is... I think Dodd is a good area level fighter. I had him by 4 rounds last night was a disgrace no way that could of been scored to Cardle. He deserves to be British Champion his attitude over the 2 fights is excellent. Cardle won't fight him again.. I've heard it's Hooper next surely a lot more fighters in line ahead of him

How can Hooper be ahead of Campbell? Cardle and Campbell both Matchroom fighters so I'm sure that fight can be made if all concerned want it. As you say, I can't see how Hooper is next in line. Strange.

Exactly I noticed Hooper is English champion but Campbell is now commonwealth so should be next in line be funny to see Cardle and Gallagher bottle it in that case

would love to see cambell vs cardle and masher vs coyle with the winners meetings. Or masher vs derry if Warren brings him over.

He came across really well after the fight but I think he may not be as accepting of the draw this morning - probably having watched the fight back already. Having read another post, Cardle disrespectfully referenced to him as a small hall fighter in an IFL interview after the fight which doesn't say much for him - he got outboxed in their first fight and was lucky that Dodd gassed and last night he was outboxed again in my opinion and was steeped to get a draw. Cardle and Gallagher's reaction after the decision says it all really.

Absolute disgrace!! Simple as that, Eddie Hearn gave an interview yet? Dodd won it comfortable, when do u get points for moving side to side and not punching? Joke

Hooper's been made the mandatory after he beat Adam Dingsdale last time out, he's vacated the English, Ohara Davies and Andy Keates box for the belt next week.

Should Cardle beat Hooper, it's his British belt for good then, no doubt he vacates and Campbell boxes for the vacant title.

:TU: I thought the early commentary was woeful, they gave Cardle far too much credit for staying out of range. Cardle was outboxing himself as well as Dodd, he used so much excessive motion he didn't have time to punch.

Absolutley shocking, the judges should be made to explain their cards after every fight so that when fighters fight in front of these judges they know what certain judges like or dislike. Poor masher should have the lonsdale now and be looking forward to a big fight again instead he is probably going to fight on a small hall show without the sky tv lights and cameras. Dont see how someone can win a fight without throwing punches its a joke

The thing is Cardle was keeping out of the way as if he were fighting Alexis Arguello, there's a big difference between keeping just out of range and then stepping into punch and keeping out of range altogether. He seemed very shy of getting hit at all and the fact is, when Sean did land it didn't trouble Cardle too much. If Scott boxes like that v Dodds what's he going to do if he boxes Campbell? He'll want a hundred foot ring.

I find it hard to agree with the two judges who scored it a draw but one judge actually gave it to Cardle by two rounds ? . That's an absolute disgrace imo.
He must have been watching a completely different fight to the one everyone else had before their eyes.

Perhaps he thought he was scoring a dance off !

Dodd deserved it last night, he fought a simple yet solid fight over the 12 rounds and should have been waking up as British champ this morning.

Was gutted for him when the result was read out.

dodd deserved it. limited, afraid to attack, boring, cardle lost another fight there.

small hall fighter comments are comical, least dodd actually fights, lots of footwork and head movement and no punching,

He didn't deserve the small hall fighter label... what does that make Cardle if he's going life and death with him.

I thought Dodd was a clear winner, well scorewise anyways,if im honest i thought it was a poor fight, neither guy landing much and taking the initative, funnily enough i'd probably say Cardle is more talented than Sean but Masher def won more rounds over both fights on my cards, its just that Scotty seems to have talent but no boxing brain, got too involved in the 1st fight and was unwilling to get involved at all last night leaving Dodd to press and pick up early rounds on workrate then late on when all Scotty's herky jerky movement on the outside left him gassing Dodd was able to beat him to the punch landing better shots

I had it 117-112 Dodd in the end,lot of rounds were what you like seeing as neither guy were landing much i preferred Dodd's workrate and willingness to engage
