There were two Jimmy Owens fighting in the 1970s, one was white and the other African American. Both their records have been combined. The white Owens was 3-0 and retired after beating Scott Clark and Pedro Santiago. I saw him three times in Florida. In the Clark-Owens rematch, which I saw, that was the black Jimmy Owens who had over 20 or more fights. Two different Owens. Thanks.

Then why was Owens quoted in the 1978-10-4 Orlando Sentinel as saying: 'It wasn't the same Scott Clark I fought two years ago' ? Once again, you provided us with incorrect info.
