Troyanovski vs Cuenca 8th April BNation

I noticed BN are covering this card from Russia tomorrow evening. The undercard isn't up to much. I missed the first fight but I noticed that Troyanovski won by KO in the 6th. Why is there an immediate rematch? Was it a bad stoppage?

Troyanovsky was winning anyway but if memory serves he kind of threw a punch and Cuenca ducked and they fell on the floor with Troya landing on top of him and Cuenca made a meal about it and the referee asked him about continuing and he seemed to decline the offer. I think afterwards there was some sort of dispute about language barrier and such like.

The corner of Cuenca were furious if I remember they lifted the referee's arm as the winner.

It was not a great fight but was vaguely interesting in seeing if Cuenca could outbox the big puncher, I had Troya winning 4 rounds to 1 I think or might have been 5-0 but remember thinking he was heading to a win probably inside the distance.

Was a bizarre ending, Troyanovsky was in front then Cuenca tried to hold and lift him up in the air in the 6th, Troyanovsky managed to stay on his feet but landed on Cuenca in the process. When he got up he was cut and seemed to be indicating to the ref that he didn't want to go on and the fight was stopped, cue protests from Cuenca and his team. From the replay it looked like he took a knee to the head while he was on the way down and Troyanovsky boot had caught him over the eye and caused the cut.

Yeah i agree the 1st fights ending was a bit strange i remember thinking Cuenca maybe wanted out but..? Troyanovsky was winning clear on my card and it was a bit of a snoozer from memory,cant see the purpose of a rematch

Maybe Cuenca might last the course this time but i still see a clear win for Troyanovsky,certainly as far as the cards will be concerned

I think so, Cuenca clearly felt the power of Troyanovsky and was even more defensive than he normally is, however, the fact he wanted the rematch if not based solely on money is promising. I don't expect a great fight (famous last words) although it could get mildly interesting if Cuenca can get past the Troyanovsky lead which is what caused him most problems last time. If he can somehow slip the lead and work in 2s and 3s he could make it closer but you would assume he has to win 8 rounds in Russia and that is hard to see to be honest.

Most pointless rematch in a while.

Had to say the words but Cuenca bottled it first time and looked for a way out.

I've put my money on a Troyanivski win inside the distance.

The undercard is especially poor for Russia.

Strange considering he (Troyanavski) came up from lightweight not too long back. Guess some lads just grow into the weight quicker or carry it better.
Even though he's 35 he's an interesting addition to the division.

If Crawford vs Postol comes off hopefully he's interested in fighting the winner.

With his age it needs to be sooner rather than later

Not as bizarre ending as the 1st fight but still a bit strange although in Cuenca's defence this time Troyanovsky was starting to pour it on him,he scored a couple of cracking KD's,he had success with the left uppercut a few times before decking Cesar,and i was starting to hope the ref would start taking points away for spitting out the gumshield,but Cuenca ended up quitting again so....

I was impressed with Troyanovsky tonight actually,Cuenca was moving well and using all of the ring early but once Eduard got to work it didnt take long
