Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
Both had Canelo winning through the 5 rounds in the books.
Towbridge had it 4-1 in favor of Canelo...

Towbridge had it 4-1 in favor of Canelo...
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
Really? Ffs! I had Khan winning three clearly Canelo one and one could've went either way or even. At least Canelo ended the fight conclusively and it didn't go to cards!
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
I think the WBC gives a bonus point on the cards for every pound Alvarez weighs in under the limit.

Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
Let us not forget that one judge had the Floyd Canelo fight a draw.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
Stating the obvious here, but if a fight ends in a KO, who won what rounds does not matter.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
But it shows what Marvis has always said. Boxing always follows the money and these judges do little to disprove it.Badhusker wrote:Stating the obvious here, but if a fight ends in a KO, who won what rounds does not matter.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
How quickly we forget the insane 118-110 card he got vs. Trout and the 117-111 he got vs Lara. The draw card vs Money has company as far as horrible scoring goes. This guy gets the benefit of every doubt and then some. Thank goodness Gennady is going to knock him out, it's probably the only way they can't steal it.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
what punches did khan land on canelo while he was running like a rabbit? how could khan possibly win a round, except for the fourth, when he actually tried to land some punches. he was never in the fight.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
How wasn't he in the fight if the punch that knocked him out was only about the third that Canelo landed (according to you)?jimcook wrote:what punches did khan land on canelo while he was running like a rabbit? how could khan possibly win a round, except for the fourth, when he actually tried to land some punches. he was never in the fight.

He hit Canelo with a lot of flashy 1-2's from the outside, and controlled the range much better through the first 4 rounds. The tide turned in the 5th round imo. The best scoring shots from rounds 1-5 were body shots by Canelo, but they were too infrequent and Canelo struggled to find the range too much in those first 4 to give him the rounds. I knew the KO was coming when he found the range in the 5th but i had it 40-36 to Khan after 4.

Towbridge is an interesting name.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
I watched the fight again. I could easily see it 3-2 Canelo after 5.

I gave Khan the 1st 4 rounds when watching live but when I watched it next day with my dad I was more impressed with Alvarez's work,I didn't score again but might have only gave Amir the 1st

Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
I had Lara winning 117-111 but very few people did. I knew they were going to rob Lara because some of the rounds were close. I score on strict scoring criteria... That is clean effective punches on fair territory landed before the bell ends the round... I don't count punches "accidentally" landing low, on the back, behind the ear, while holding with the other hand or arm, or landing on the break .. I don't give the round to the more aggressive fighter unless both boxers land the same number of punches doing equal damage... If they're equally aggressive and land the same number of shots doing equal damage (this happens more frequently than you'd think) I give it to the guy with the better connect ratio (better defense) for that round. If their connect ratios are tied up I give to the better "ring general" ... that's a criterion I hate because I feel it's subjective.. For me it's who did the better job controlling the ring space, the pace, the style of action, and possibly even presented better showmanship.. It's a 10-10 round when that's also even, which might happen once in 300 rounds. If neither boxer wins the round it's a tie. Look how many NBA games go into overtime at like 104 for each team or whatever. So to say tied rounds can't happen is another dumb belief.SFW wrote:How quickly we forget the insane 118-110 card he got vs. Trout and the 117-111 he got vs Lara. I had Canelo winning 48 to 47 after 5.. If Khan had magically beaten the count in good shape he would have been behind at least 58-55 on 2 cards.. That's an extremely difficult hole to climb out of. If he won 5 of the 6 remaining rounds while suffering NO more knockdowns he could have won by at least 114-113 on 2 cards. But Canelo was increasingly finding the range and things seemed to be going in his direction when the end came.

You know it's funny people are chastised for scoring against Floyd yet come up with scores such as Alvarez winning vs Khan & Lara. Khan was way more effective fighting on the outside through 5 than Floyd was in Maidana 1 & Pacquiao.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
HELL NO he wasn't...you're WAY off base... Khan is no Lara. Khan opened strong in the first 2 rounds because Canelo didn't want to charge in and knock him out. That was always an option any time during the fight - but if you train for 3 months you might want to try some jabs and finesse moves first. Stuff you've been working on for months in training camp. Khan is really easy to hit. Everyone knows Khan is fast, but his defense is terrible. Maidana and Pacquiao had very little chance of catching defensive master Floyd. But all Alvarez had to do is focus and box because he was going to get tons of opportunities to smash Khan FLAT!!!! Canelo feinted and timed Khan perfectly. Amir made another novice mistake like he always does and got nailed to the floor. This is why he hasn't fought a puncher since Danny Garcia - til Canelo.Ricky_ wrote: You know it's funny people are chastised for scoring against Floyd yet come up with scores such as Alvarez winning vs Khan & Lara. Terrible post. We all know canelo landed the ko shot but that doesn't restrospectively win you the previous rounds. Other than a few eye catching bodyshots Canelo landed very little. Concensus is Khan was winning through 5... because he was.
Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
YOUR post is ignorant. You mean body shots, jabs, hooks, and rights.. They were ALL setting Khan up for the KO finish.. Consensus was Canelo was winning through 5.. Anyway the judges are the professionals.. A few idiots had Khan ahead.. A bunch of idiots had Pacquiao beating Floyd as well.Ricky_ wrote:Kalan wrote:HELL NO he wasn't...you're WAY off base... Re: Judges Glenn Towbridge & Glenn Feldman
I do worry that Vegas judges have to fill the void in their pockets now that Floyd's gone and i'm in agreement that Canelo is getting favorable assistance on the scorecards. This is why I think that Canelo's chance to beat GGG is on the cards and making a full 12 rounds. Golden Boy is all in on Canelo and i'm sure they will spare no expense to gain every edge they can for their only elite boxer.
