WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
if the fight were made today, who wins?
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Terry by KO.
Disclaimer; I've bet against Crolla in every fight he has had from the Derry rematch onwards and the little bastard has cost me a fortune :P

Would like to see Crolla win but think Terry is ever so slightly a tad better.

Fancy Flanagan in a close fight.
I take it Jose Zepeda is never going to get a rematch then?

Flanagan wide UD. I think he's better technically than Crolla and probably the stronger of the two.

Crolla just comes forward with good body punching but I favour Terry to have the edge in workrate and completely outwork him to scores of around 116-112 on the scorecards.

I never believe any of the nonsense promoters come out with about what's being offered.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
I've always favoured Turbo when their names have been mentioned but Crolla continues to prove everyone wrong and is improving with every fight. It's an intriguing match-up that I hope we can eventually see, providing Hearn & Woz can put their differences aside and make it happen.

I don't see any way this happens as a co-promotion. There is no way the two sides will agree the split in revenues. Frampton v Quigg was a different dynamic as you had a fighter in Frampton who had enormous appeal and more credibility in terms of his World title. This balanced out the exclusivity Matchroom have on PPV.DannyMCR wrote:I've always favoured Turbo when their names have been mentioned but Crolla continues to prove everyone wrong and is improving with every fight. It's not exactly like Flanagan can point to the guys he has beaten in the last year or two and say to Crolla 'see my resume sh1ts on yours since I'v won my WT!'
If your gonna get a co-promotion you need to bring something big to the table. Right now it's 'oi I demand this be a co-promotion, you bring all the TV money, and your guy sells more tickets, and there's an argument your guy has beaten better opposition. Lets get it on.'
If the fight happens it will be because an offer is made by one side that's too appealing for the other side to turn down.

He beat Derry when he wasn't 100% the same guy he stopped Crolla and drew with him.jameswilson wrote:I don't see any way this happens as a co-promotion. But we shouldn't be comparing resumes etc they are both top lightweights and not just from the same City but the same school it should happen no ifs no buts.

If you are still saying the Derry v Crolla results are meaningful then I don't know what to say. If he hadn't improved out of sight since then he wouldn't have beaten Perez or Barosso. It's like saying Shannon Briggs is going to beat Haye because Haye got put over by Lolenga Mock and beaten by Carl Thompson.Naandrew wrote:He beat Derry when he wasn't 100% the same guy he stopped Crolla and drew with him.jameswilson wrote:I don't see any way this happens as a co-promotion. Honestly, the entire population of Mancunian boxing fans are itching to see this fight happen, for that reason alone it should be made.
Forget money and promotional differences, us fans deserve to see the fights we crave.

And don't forget Briggs beat Foreman who in turn beat Frazier.jameswilson wrote:If you are still saying the Derry v Crolla results are meaningful then I don't know what to say. Who beat Ali.
Simple win for Briggs.

Like I said in my last sentence we shouldn't be arguing over who has the better resume to try and legitimise why this fight should not happen. I mentioned Derry as that was a solid win especially when it seems Flanagan was injured.
It's just a joke if this fight doesn't happen and just shows the flaws in the sport.

Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
I want to say Crolla, he has more experience despite Flanagan having 30 pro fights too. But I feel Flanagan hasn't achieved much in that sense. Regardless he is a good fighter. I would have to say Flanagan would won on points. Difference between these 2 is, Flanagan doesn't know how it feels to lose.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Nobody because they won't fight because Hearn will not give Fran Warren the business. Selfish prick.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Crolla for me.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
I'd have to give the edge to Crolla just because he's proven he can handle himself against better fighters, but I admit I'm still not sure what Flanagan is capable of. It would definitely be a big event, and I'd like to see it.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Crolla. He has the repertoire, the short punching and his sharpness and physical strength have grown in the past few fights. He has that momentum and experience on his side.
Flanagan does look very fit and strong. He will be ahead after the first half but Crolla would pound his way into it.

Eddie will try to poach him and then get it on. He's already sowing the seed.
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
used to be Warren would only make fights between his fighter and someone from a different stable if he was promoting.Supremo wrote:Nobody because they won't fight because Hearn will not give Fran Warren the business. Selfish prick.

Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Does Flanagan's performance against Fana change anybodys views on this potential clash?
Re: WHO WINS? Terry Flanagan vs. Anthony Crolla
Not for me. Flanagan had crap preparation with the date moving and by his own admission wasn't that up for it. He's the kind of fighter who raises his game when required, but can drop off versus the likes of Fana.wesshaw1985 wrote:Does Flanagan's performance against Fana change anybodys views on this potential clash?
He'd be well up for the Crolla fight, as he was v Magdaleno, and I think it could be a similar result, albeit in later rounds.
If/when it happens it will be hard for a lot of us in Manchester. I like both guys. A grander, more publicised Crolla v Murray.
