The wait continues for Jake's first fight since leaving for the US. He vacated the Australian title months ago and hasn't fought for nearly a year.

Jake Carr's U.S. debut against Mike Gavronksi is the main event of Battle at the Boat 107 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma.

“This main event has so many intriguing subplots heading into it. Mike is attempting to rebound from a rare loss, Jake is fighting in the US for the first time and trying to stay undefeated, and the winner of this fight could very easily see themselves ranked in the top 10 depending on the outcome,” said promoter Brian Halquist.

“The experience over here has been amazing so far. We have had some very high quality sparring and training and I’ve been improving with every session,” Carr said about working with Justin Fortune, a former heavyweight contender and fellow Australian. “All of my training camps have been very good, but where this experience has differed is that I’m training with a lot higher quality fighters, in a country where boxing is very popular. It is a great feeling.”

“Despite the quiet year I haven’t stopped training hard and I’ve kept myself 110% dedicated to my sport,” Carr said.
