Macklin offered Alvarez fight

So much for Alvarez and his team fighting Golokin, after Alvarez beat Khan, Golden boy offered Macklin a shot at Alvarez, but Macklin said that at this stage in his career, he would have only a punchers chance, that Alvarez would be to much for him.

Is this true? Do you have a link to the source?

I have to say I am a tad dubious about Macklin turning down a chance to earn a 6 or 7 figure fee and a chance of everlasting glory.

But stranger things have happened..... :o

If this is true (I have my doubts) then it shows GB have absolutely no intention of facing GGG next. I read a thing the other day where they said they would need to 'build up' any potential fight between the two! What a crock of dirty brown shitt! GB have lost a lot of their main fighters so they need a strong Canelo to stay relevant. If the fight doesn't happen I don't blame Canelo I blame that cross dressing coke whore Oscar!

Cheers Anzi,

I definitely think it's a load of old bollocks now.

"a bit of contact from Golden Boy Promotions regarding a possible Canelo fight"

Could he be even more vague

A fishing expedition Taansend, by Golden boy, to see if it is possible, that's what he means by "a bit of contact " Still it is worrying for a Golokin fight, that they are checking elsewhere.

Heard this whisper from a few sources.

Good decision from Macklin. At this stage of his career it would be a bad fight to take despite the payday.

Thought this was a lot of pish when I heard it at first but after Canelo vacating maybe it's not so far fetched...

Canelo is a money train. Expect that to be exploited as long and as lucratively as possible. The funniest part of it is the blind Canelo defenders are the one's paying Canelo while he's laughing in your face avoiding the only fight the fans want while he gives you this Kahn shit and plans for more shit fights.

If this is true Canelo is taking the piss. If I was Macklin I would take the payday, quit on my stool after a couple of rounds, using them as much as the are using him.

It is true, I know Macklin, he would not say it, if it was not the case, it is not that easy to say that you refused a fight of such. It all makes sense now that Alvarez has given up the middleweight belt.

very sensible decision from macklin, hes been done for a while now and an alvarez fight could of been very dangerous for his health
