Lara vs. Charlo Bros

Post by jujigatame »

With them all fighting on the same card, is Lara versus one of the Charlos in the plans? Or is this just another one of those super obvious fights that will never happen?

Does anyone think either of the Charlos can beat Lara? After Saturday's card I tend to think Lara would get the better of both of them, at least for the next couple years.

I thought I read somewhere that Lara said he would not fight the Charlo's. I could be wrong though.

I believe Lara would beat Jarmell rather handily, but a Jarmall bout would be interesting.

Jermall is a handful for anyone at 154. Canelo beats Jermell.

Thought I read that the Charlo twins said they didnt want to fight Lara but that Lara would happily fight either

In the post fight interview Lara stated that he would not be fighting the Charlo's due to them being on the same team / from the same stable. Of course $$$ could change that and / or his mgmt team.

I think Lara would probably outbox Jermell. Not sure about Jermall.

So who is he trying to fight then because Al Haymon guys usually fight each other?

I think Lara against either Charlo would be one for the purists

Lara beats both rather handily on points in my opinion.

With 3 of the 4 champions not prepared to face each other you'd think they'd all be after a Smith unification.
Liam has suddenly got a lot of good options at 154.

No way in hell would Lara and Charlo Brothers fight. They are very good friends and train together regularly.

Better chance of one of the three fighting Andrade. Personally I think Andrade beats all three.

This, what the hell are people thinking when they say they that they're going to fight each other, they're stable mates, they're each other's team, FFS

Brothers is one thing, but teammates is different. If is a sport FFS. They should want to prove that they are the best at their weight instead of feasting on fringe contenders.

P.S. I don't mean their last fights where they actually had good opponents, but they will run out of good opponents really soon.

Yeah, family is one thing. But this not fighting a "friend" is new to the last 20 years or so.

Muhammad Ali and Jimmy Ellis had been friends since they were early teens and still found a way to fight.

Well, Ali and Ellis were both Angelo Dundee guys.

But I gues the biggest difference is that with 17 division and 4 champs, it's much easier to avoid friends and still have the kind of career you want.

When there were less divisions and only 1 or 2 champs, you had less options.
