What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
If they all fight each other, who will be the undisputed champ?
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
I voted Joshua but Parker is also a great choice.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
I'm going with ortiz. Great fundamentals, decent footwork, great power, don't recall him ever hitting the canvas. Has proven his stamina by reaching the late rounds and has late round power.
Joshua is hype for me until he goes the distance and has some decent names under his belt. Too many question marks, but he's a safe bet I guess, I'm just overly skeptical sometimes.
Fury and wilder have more questions than answers after the disappointment of the Klitschko fight and the cancelled povetkin fight. Hopefully we can get them in the ring with quality opposition asap.

Probably Joshua.
I think Ortiz might be as good as anybody, but at his advanced age he'll be past his prime before too long so Joshua will ultimately be on top longer than him.

Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
The final super fight will be Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder. . . Joshua is the last man standing.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
wow all great fighters but Joshua is still improving and so is Parker, they are the future for sure. Wilder is also very good and Tyson seems at times to hang on to weight he says it doesn't matter but, hes not been in the ring with a world class pressure fighter, or anyone with speed. I love Tyson and i think he is great! but im curios to see how the rematch goes, people think it will be the same, but a Hungry Wladimir Klitschko who seems way more determined hes been training almost since he lost is a very dangerous man. He seems way more serious and more of the ruthless cold KO artist we have been used to seeing for years. But eventually he will retire ( pretty soon ). Also Haye and briggs both former champions are 38 and 44 and will eventually decline also. The 3 people i see that are talking points are Wilder, Parker and Anthony Joshua. Tyson right now is the man, he beat the best. But the others need a new test which in time will come. same story with Golovkin, hes faced good fighter but we want to see him against Canelo. But to choose one fighter to be the " man " id say Anthony Joshua because he is an all round athlete which is extremely important at the top level. He has Gold at the Olympics and so far hes dominated and is a World Champion with only 16 fights! He will no question beat Breazle and after that he should face the IBF mandatory Joseph Parker which would be Exciting and a real talking point!
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
Went for AJ. The ones I'd consider picking to beat him are Ortiz, who probably won't get the big fights and Fury, who I can see packing it in at any time.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
ATM I guess Joshua, but couldnt discount Ortiz. He looks a handful but father time is against him, his time is now!
Ortiz has a 350-19 amateur record, so is seasoned beyond his pro record!

I expect AJ and Fury to win against everyone and AJ would probably be the winner of those two.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
I believe Ortiz is the best of the bunch and given the opportunity he would beat Joshua now. His skill set, power, experience, durability, all together, that's a dangerous combo. But like what was said already, his age is working against him. He likely won't get the chance.

I expect it will be Joshua.
I just hope match-ups between the top HWs in the poll will be made.

Anthony Joshua has the skills, speed, and power... So does Ortiz but he's 37.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
ortiz, he is the total package. technicly superior to josh and any other heavyweight, got similar power to wilder. simply the combination of technique & power will be tough for any heavyweight to handle.

if wilder and josh duck ortiz for the next 2 years and wait till he is past prime, than well, they are basicly saying "we dont fight the guy right now, he is better than us, we will avoid him until he is 39 or 40 and than we ll have a chance", pretty much admit that ortiz is #1

I've picked Fury.
No-one on that list has shown me they could catch a Tyson Fury in full Backfoot mode.

Fury IS THE MAN who beat THE MAN.
All others are wannabees with good PR who beat only nobodies. Ortiz and Povetkin are also PED cheaters...not deserve mentioning...

This. He hasn't the fanbase, and not enough time to build one, he will likely be given a shot when he's too far past his best to win.SFW wrote:I believe Ortiz is the best of the bunch and given the opportunity he would beat Joshua now. Fury by a country mile.
Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
Hughie Fury may be very good. He boxes like a young Cassius Clay.

My thoughts also. Until someone beats Fury he is the man.PredatorHayds wrote:I've picked Fury.

No one has shown me that they can

AJ, I'd go for Otis to beat them all but he'll either get frozen out or just get to old.

Re: What heavyweight will be "the last man standing"?
I like Ortiz but lets be honest here, what has he done, who has he smashed, that suggests he is the number 1?
Whats to say he don't fold when Fury starts moving around him and uses his height and size to unsettle him? Whats to say he doesn't fold when joshua hits him square on the chin?
Right now, he's a challenger. It's nobody else's fault that he is 37 and still in challenger mode. Thats his doing.
I hope it all gets settled over the next 18 months. I will say that if one of these guys beats everyone, or almost everyone on this list over that time frame, then we will be left with a genuine quality Heavyweight Champ.

I do think if Hughie gets and stays healthy (he has some issues) and dedicated I do think he can be very good and IMO should have been on the list in lieu of Povetkin.
"Like" and as good as are two different things but your point is well taken.
