I shudder to think what a top ten guy would do to Sam now.

Sergey has a record of 22-1 in World Series of Boxing which boxrec should recognize but they do not.
They count Prizefighter so WSoB should be on their record as well.

Is WSoB recognised by the governing bodies? I have to say I know nothing about it.

I don't know if the sanctioning bodies recognize WSoB results or not.
How many middleweights get eliminators in what boxrec says is their 9th fight?
I think the alphabet orgs use fightfax for fight records.

I think it's something we'll see more and more of, especially with Eastern European fighters.

And it is only an eliminator for a Number 2 spot. The winner then has to face the Number 1 spot for a shot at a title....

To be honest. Fighfax is a far more accurate teflection of fighters records.

Is there a charge to use Fightfax? Or is it free like BoxRec?

There is a fee to use fightfax.
Have no idea how much it costs because I'm just not going to cough up money to see boxer won/lost records.

Hello Boss,

One of my best mates is part of the Melbourne Boxing/Wrestling/MMA scene.

Sam's manager told him it's on.

Cheers for that. It's just that there have been a few strong rumours of fights for Sam in recent times that have never eventuated.

Based on a post and link from BobbyDobbs in the Record Queries and Updates section it seems that fightfax does count World Series of Boxing matchups.
Sergey D's pro record should be listed as 30-1, he's not a novice with less than 10 fights.

I dont see any of the top 10 middleweights destroying Sam. he just has a style and work ethic to give any of them fits - hence why very few of them want to fight him.

Sam Soliman is still suffering recurrences of the knee injury he suffered against Jermain Taylor. Says it has kept him out of the ring since the Domenic Wade fight a year ago.

SAM Soliman will take on Sergiy Derevyanchenko on July 21 in an eliminator for the IBF #2 position.

The fight will take place in Connecticut and will be aired on ESPN as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series.

“This fight is an opportunity to take the IBF’s number two middleweight ranking,” said Soliman in a press release issued by his management. “This puts me back in the frame for a world title shot,”

“Sergiy is a tough opponent with a big reputation earned in more than 300 amateur fights. He’s only had eight professional bouts and is already ranked by the IBF at number four, so I’m expecting a very experienced opponent.”

Soliman said a recurring knee injury had kept him out from fighting since his points loss to Dominic Wade last June.

“I had fights set with Hassan N’Dam in France in November and a fight with Antoine Douglas in March that were cancelled because of the injury, which was tough, because I’d been in training mode for both.”

“I’ve taken a new approach to my training since, so don’t let anyone tell you an old dog can’t learn new tricks,”

The 42-year-old Melburnian admits that the time away was frustrating, but the break has proved to be beneficial.

“It’s been a tough learning curve overcoming injury and the disappointment of the one that got away with my loss to Wade,” he concluded. “I count myself lucky because I have the support of a great team.”

“I know I’m back to my best. I’m freshened up from the break and am looking forward to this fight – which will be my first in twelve months – which is maybe not a bad thing for a guy my age.”

Sam is a warrior. He has proved that time and again, and even with a bung knee he will soldier on.

He missed his original chance against ggg after the wade robbery. I'd pay to see Sam against anyone.

Sam would get slaughtered by GGG and as a fan of Golovkin's I'd like to see him fight more highly regarded opponents.

Probably but the fight with Sam will never happen even if by some miracle he beats Derevyachenko HBO would want to see GGG against known opponents. He will be at least 43 by the time he became GGG's mando anyway hopefully GGG beats BJS by that time and moves up and fights competitive fights.

Sam Soliman's fate was delivered by 3 American judges when he fought Domenic Wade in America a year ago.

Now its Domenic Wade whose fate is in the hands of an American judge:
