Parker v Haye

Post by J.P »

Parker #1 WBO #1 IBF vs Haye at the O2 winner gets Joshua massive payday for Parker and World Title shot if Haye wins , how would this one go down in the UK?

Parker is already mandatory challenger as you probably know. I don't see Parker taking this fight.

Risk Reward he would certainly make a name for himself in UK if he could pull it off and a massive paycheque and probably double what he would get for The Joshua fight at the moment

Haye wont fight a live opponent. He is saving himself for AJ. He already tried to undermine Parker, said he was an easy fight for Joshua.

I just red about it and yeah they're saying it's bigger bucks than a title fight!! It's also talked about being an undercard fight to a Joshua fight.

It is a great looking fight...but does Haye actually have to go through Parker to get a title fight which is clearly his gameplan?

If he does not absolutely have to box Parker then sadly I don't see it happening; especially as David has always been super-canny about getting maximum revenue from minimum risk.

Just as an aside...do the Fury's still view David as bad business and not some they're prepared to deal after those cancelled fights?

It would be nice to see Haye fight someone who isn't on life support.

It's now obvious that Haye does not plan to engage in any meaningful competition prior to a shot at a trinket.

Exacto. I wouldn't even be surprised if he has second thoughts about Briggs.

I thought Parker first needed to defend his mandatory status against Pulev, but after that he's in line for AJ indeed.

Haye shouldn't take part of this, he first needs to build himself back up, against good boxers instead of high ranked bums. I'm actually happy he fights Briggs, then at least one talker is gone.

*edit: With high ranked bums I'm not talking about Parker, but about Gjergjaj and de Mori. I'd like to see Parker Whyte, Parker Pulev, Parker Hughie Fury, Parker Washington.

Title fight is mandatory so a smaller percentage of the purse.
Haye fight would be 50/50 Haye being the name and Parker having the position.
Depends who Parker sees as the easier fight.
I'd go for AJ if i was in his position...
