Just wanted to show some appreciation for coach Roach.
This guy isn't on everyone's Christmas card list and i can see why he can be unlikeable, but if you're a fan of the sport you have to have the utmost admiration for Freddie and his dedication.
Battling against Parkinson's disease every day of his life he continues to train a stable of elite level fighters and travels the globe with them to corner their fights, through nothing other than a love of the Sport... 'cause he certainly doesn't need the money.

I reckon the guy must be doing okay. He's got multiple gyms to my knowledge (or atleast affiliated with him) aside from what he made with Pacquaio.
Oh I'm sure he's doing pretty well, but then there's always a lot of expenses too.
My main objection is that he's doing it all out of love of the sport, I'm sure there's an element of that, but the guy is a shrewd operator too. He had quite a juicy deal with Pacquaio as I recall.
Ah yeah don't get me wrong I think he's still enjoys the money that comes with the job. I think as much as anything though he does it because he says it helps hold his parkinson's at bay somewhat.

Trainers generally take 10% of the purse, top level guys take more. But let's say it's 10% for good math. That means even for Amir Khan he's taking 200k. About 2m per Pacquiao fight and upward of 10m for the big one.
There really is little incentive financially (given what he has made) in training guys like Postol. It's almost exclusively love for the sport.

You obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about. Did you not see the 24/7's done on the guy? He lives extremely modestly and already says that he has more money than he could ever spend and the only thing that keeps himself going is the love for what he does. So do yourself a favor and do the smallest amount of research before commenting on something you don't know. Money doesn't motivate this guy in the least.

Coach Roach
Freddie Roach as been a tremendous example to those suffering similar debilitating illnesses. Small in body. Huge in heart.
I respect the guy. His resume speaks for itself. Only wish he'd teach his boxers better defense. Literally every boxer I've seen him work with has had holes in their defense and lack head movement, parrying, etc.
Yeah I'll give a shout out to Freddie. I guess he can be an ornery prick at times but that goes with the business of boxing and of growing old, nevermind dealing with a debilitating disease day in, day out......... To Freddy!!!!

I would imagine that those intense workouts for Freddie may actually be helpful to him as well (yes, holding the pads for 20 rounds or so is a fair fornicating workout, mentally and physically). Any one who's a millionaire and yet still posts YouTube videos instructing randoms on the intricacies of footwork is clearly in it for the sport. I would love to have a beer with the man, one of the sport's true living legends.
