Joseph Parker vs Anthony Joshua title fight due by Jan 9th say IBF
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/exclusi ... ph-parker/
ANTHONY JOSHUA will be ordered to face his mandatory challenger Joseph Parker in November this year, with a view to facing him before January, the IBF confirmed yesterday.
“We will notify Anthony Joshua that he must fight mandatory challenger Joseph Parker on November 9, 2016. The mandatory due date is January 9, 2017,” the IBF confirmed.
That means that negotiations should begin in November after Joshua and his team have been formally notified of the situation. Though there is nothing stopping the two sides coming together before then.

This is good news, looking forward to AJ finally being challenged, providing Parker lives up to expectations. I can see them maybe slipping in another voluntary before that time.

Eddie Hearn sounds keen for Parker to be Joshua’s next opponent. Parker still has Haumono to get out of the way on July 21st.DannyMCR wrote:This is good news, looking forward to AJ finally being challenged, providing Parker lives up to expectations. Other than $$ I don't think it necessary for AJ to have another fight between now and a potential Nov date with Parker. Unless of course they want to make the fight early 2017 in which case a Sept/Oct fight would make sense. IF the fight is made for Nov then the potential Sept bout Parker had planned you'd imagine gets scrubbed in favour of the AJ fight why risk a Sept fight even to a average opponent (injury risk etc) however once again Sept makes sense if its early 2017

I don't know at all who he might be planning to fight on September if he does, but my guess is that they wouldn't go for anyone that could jeopardise his date with Joshua. They'd probably go for someone that puts bums on seats but not (what they think) would be as tough as Takam.

Provided Parker gets some rounds out of Haumono perhaps that will do him until he fights Joshua anyway.foxdog1923 wrote:Totally agree with shape.bogan whisperer wrote:Any clues on who Parker might have been planning to fight in Sept??N2 Shape wrote:Other than $$ I don't think it necessary for AJ to have another fight between now and a potential Nov date with Parker. Not at all. I have no doubt Haumono will bring his A game. It's just that from what we've seen of him lately it is well short of Parker's.colin russell wrote:You all seem to think Houmono is just in this for a holiday be carefull

According to Dean Lonergan from Duco :
"Eddie Hearn himself was saying it's either November, December for Joseph or March, April. It doesn't worry us either way. We've got our shot guaranteed and it's going to happen".
"Joseph fights on July 21. We'll probably fight another time after that in late September, early October, and then the mandatory period comes up November 19. Any day after that, Joseph would be ready."
"How is AJ going to go when he's eating Joseph's jab all night?"

Re: Joseph Parker vs Anthony Joshua title fight due by Jan 9th say IBF
The injuries sustained by WBC champion Deontay Wilder against Arreola probably remove one possible obstacle in the path of a Parker vs Joshua meeting in January.
Re: Joseph Parker vs Anthony Joshua title fight due by Jan 9th say IBF
The rescheduling of Fury/Wlad has probably helped Parker also as IF Fury beats Wlad (under the old proposed date of the fight) a potential unification with Fury would force Parker back down the que. Given that fights now October? correct me if Im wrong. I cant see Fury/AJ happening until end of 2017 early 2018.
Any thoughts on potentail opponents for JP in Sept? He cant go backwards even while waiting for his shot, or at least to far backwards. David Price for me would be a good opponent and its a fight Price might be interested in as the ramifications of a win for him would be massive. It pits JP against a big guy who he needs some work against in prep for AJ and also introduces him more to the UK market. It will force him to be on his A game defensively as we know Price can crack but also has a soft chin so a spectacular KO/Stoppage is also on the cards.

Joseph Parker vs David Price on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's next fight on November 26th?
That's what Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn would like to see.

Parker ready for November IBF world title fight against Joshua if mandatory challenge is enforced
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-spor ... s-enforced?
Parker is willing and ready to fight Joshua for the IBF world heavyweight title if his mandatory challenge is ordered for November 26 in Manchester.
That possibility remains strong as Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn struggles to nail down a preferred opponent out of Kubrat Pulev or Bermane Stiverne.
Ideally Parker will fight David Price on the Manchester undercard.
Parker is scheduled to face Alexander Dimitrenko (38-2, 24 KOs) on October 1.
"We don't dwell on it too much but we are well aware that until they sign the Pulev fight they may turn around and call Joe for the mandatory," Barry explained.
"At the moment we are planning to be on the that undercard" Barry said.
Parker's management have been working behind the scenes to have everything in place for their battle in Britain whichever way it works out.
Barry has been delighted with Parker's latest training camp in Las Vegas where he fought three XXXL sparring partners.
"It's the biggest team of sparring partners we've ever had and Joe has systematically broken them down," Barry said.
They had concentrated on working combinations up and down the body of his opponents and also finishing those combinations at an angle rather than in front of the enemy and becoming a counter-attack target.
"He's got 93 rounds of sparring these guys under his belt. There are a lot of things to feel very good about, very confident about."
They included Parker's head movement and defence.
"Before, we have been relying on hand speed and power. Now, against bigger and stronger fighters, it's very important to have that head movement and Joe is better than ever with that. I believe his defensive patterns have really improved also."

Parker will know on September 26th whether he will fight Joshua or instead be on the undercard :
"September 26 will be the announcement, that's what I'm hearing. It was out of the three, Parker, Pulev, Stiverne, that was the shortlist and if it's not one of them, then they're all going to be on the show" - Anthony Joshua.

With Eddie Hearn struggling to get Kubrat Pulev or Bermane Stiverne set as Anthony Joshua's next opponent, Dean Lonergan from Duco has raised the left field suggestion Parker's stablemate Izu Ugonoh could fight Anthony Joshua on November 26th. Ugonoh is rated in the IBF's top 15 so he does meet that part of the criteria.

Parker vs Joshua on November 26th is looking more and more likely :

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn says Joseph Parker is now the favoured option for November's world heavyweight title fight in Manchester.
Hearn has been struggling to tie down Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev as his preferred opponent and appears likely to enforce the mandatory challenge owned by Parker for the November 26 fight.
Hearn is set to announce Joshua's opponent on Monday.

Awesome fight if it eventuates good to see 2 boxers unafraid to test themselves. Hughie Fury priced himself out of it apparently. Interview with Hearn in this link.Like a Boss wrote:Parker vs Joshua on November 26th is looking more and more likely :

Not sure how much credence can be placed in this. But it is, at the very least, nice promotional work on the part of Hearn, and for what its worth :
http://www.radiosport.co.nz/sport-news/ ... -promoter/?
Joshua ready to fight Klitschko: promoter
The date that was starting to look most likely for Joseph Parker's tilt at the IBF title is now back up in the air.
Anthony Joshua's camp says he is ready and willing to take on Wladimir Klitschko later this year in a unification bout, if Tyson Fury is stripped of his title belts.
Promoter Eddie Hearn says if Wladimir Klitschko against Anthony Joshua can be made for the WBA and the IBF belts, for November 26, they're taking that fight, no question.
November 26th had become increasing like the time Parker would take on Joshua in London.
Fury's rematch against Klitschko has been postponed twice because of the Brit's injuries, putting him in danger of losing his belts.

I wonder when Joshua will finally have an opponent settled.
I've now seen talk of Hughie, Parker, Price, Pulev, Miller, Stiverne, Ugonoh, and Wlad.
