How popular is Amateur boxing in England?

Is there any references available as to the number of 'carded' Amateur boxers competing today under England Boxing or the number of clubs affiliated? If so has the number increased or decreased over the years?

There are approximately 10,000 'active' amateur boxers in the United Kingdom covering all age, gender, experience and weight levels. Many are injured or unavailable due to other commitments.

Actual figures claim in excess of 90,000 but this includes fitness - non contact boxing.

The numbers have dropped dramatically over the years.
