Barthelemy until he officially moves up and fights at LWW.

Once he does the division number 1 will be the winner of Crolla-Linares.

Agree but I think Zlaticanin could have a claim to being the best if Rances moves up but Crolla-Linares winner will deserve that spot.

How can a guy fighting 8 rounders be the best in the division. He no resume but the best in the division every guy you mentioned has fought AND BEAT
world class guys even Inoue. Ability doesn't equate to being the best if it hasn't be proved. 15 KO's vs 22 bums is struggling watch his last five fights he regressed and there talking about fighting Jose Felix a former contender at 130 as a step up and you say him fighting Rances for the #1 spot :stop:

Emmanuel Augustus is a much better level that Martinez. It's like 1000 Martinez out their insert any of them in that fight because Martinez was no where near top 50. Not boxrec top 50 but reality. You never heard of that guy neither have I no way he's a top 50 GTFOH with that. Just because you got a stoppage doesn't mean he didn't struggle I saw the fight. He look so bad HBO shun him back to unimas. HBO who's looking for the stars basically told him you not ready to carry the PR flag yet thus Rocky Martinez headed the yearly PR card. Why guys like Commey, Easter making waves this dude is fighting 8 round nobodies and that's cool but your hype of him being fighting to be best lightweight RIGHT NOW is a joke.

GTFOH look at Augustus fought Mickey Ward, Floyd, Ray Oliveria, David Diaz, Levander Johnson, Ivan Robinson, Jesus Chaves you see those names and there's plenty more to name that were former world champs where's the names on Martinez losses. You Expert because people telling you Verdejo the next thing he so much a contender where's he ranked top 10 but you think he the best really maybe in 2018 but not right now. People tell you he the goods so you believe it.

records matter more than ability. You can have all the ability in the world if you don't use it against good fighters which has YET to do how the F*** he suppose to be considered to be a top 2 lightweight if you're haven't fought a top 100 guy no matter what the ability is.

Rances Barthelemy is #1 by quite a humongous margin. Flanagan is likely #2, but I'd like to see him prove that against someone like Bey or Shafikov. After September, the winner of Crolla - Linares could rightfully be ranked ahead of Flanagan.

Dejan Zlaticanin is the most talented Lightweight out there right now IMO.

As for a conversation that was being had earlier. So far Barthelemy has impressed me a great deal more than Verdejo has, and if they were to fight each other next I'd pick Barthelemy by clear decision.

Do you agree that its to early to suggest Verdejo should be mentioned with those guys?

Yes. He hasn't impressed me all that much when I've seen him, and his last 3 or 4 fights have all been against the same type of fighter. Crude brawlers who come forward, but aren't difficult to hit, and aren't especially creative with their offense. Unfortunately for him, none of the guys that fight like that are waiting for him at the top.
