Will Brook Ever Fight at 147 Again ?

If Kell beats GGG he'll be a bona fide middleweight world champion and so he'll presumably opt to stay at 160 but assuming he loses will he boil back down to 147 for the more high profile money spinning fights available in the welterweight division or will he move to light mid ?

He could probably earn more money at 160 with domestic dustups against BJS, Andy Lee and Eubank. I don't think the fights he'd potentially have at 154 against the likes of Lara or the Charlos or Andrade would sell very well.

Some of the other welters (the likes of Thurman) will most likely move up to light middle in the foreseeable future. Canelo will also be an option at Light Middle. The likes of Andy Lee, Eubank Jr and BJS will not make as much money for Brook on the world scene plus they are naturally much bigger than him, nevertheless they will make him a good amount in the UK. Canelo is the biggest payday for Brook if he beats GGG or puts up a great fight.

If, as seems most likely, Brook loses decisively against GGG and Liam Smith gets outclassed by Canelo the market for superstar boxers making light work of smaller British fighters will be pretty much exhausted imo so I think Brook would earn a lot more fighting the other British middleweights and maybe Khan at 154 rather than chasing another superfight with Canelo

He will make much more money facing Khan in comparison to th Middleweights, plus he will be the much bigger man in the ring against Khan, so it would make sense from a business point of view. However if Brook does shock the world and beats GGG or even puts up a great fight then the Canelo fight is the most lucrative of all.

He could have been the best 147 in the world but Hearn would not dig deep and pay for the fights to happen so get could prove it. Brooks getting iced by GGG but Hearn will get his 20% so he's fine. Honestly I think 147 was out of the question because Brook has outgrown it and depleting himself to fight Vargas would have been a mistake. He has killed his body to make 147 for years, enjoying the strength and size advantage every fight. Now I bet he can't healthily make it anymore.. which is what made the shot at Golovkin seem much more attractive. For once the weight won't be on his mind... unfortunately, he picked the wrong melon farmer to fornicate with. Golovkin is a rare athlete, people avoid him for good reason.

If he loses, i would be surprised to see him back in the ring. Big payday and off he goes. The messing around that has happened during his career is his own fault and maybe he's just not that bothered about getting in the ring all too often
