David Benavidez vs Denis Douglin
Undefeated 19 year old puncher Benavidez takes on "Mommas Boy" this friday on BT Sports,Benavidez looks alright from what little ive seen, all but one of his 15 wins have came via KO,Douglin will be the 1st opponent he'll have fought that ive heard of though
Most will remember Douglin from getting KO'd by Groves a couple of years ago,he gave George a bit of trouble before the end came though,im sure i might have had him in the lead actually,he also got KO'd by Jermell Charlo a few years back,he is a decent fighter though ,at a certain level anyway, the whole "Mommas Boy" moniker is a bit cringey though(he's trained by his mum)
Stephen Ormond is on the undercard fighting some unbeaten guy named Alejandro Luna

David Benavidez v Denis Douglin + Stephen Ormond on BT Sport
Not seen it mentioned elsewhere just a quick heads up as is normally the case the PBC on ESPN show Friday night is being shown live on BT Sport 1 (2am-4am).
Super Middleweight prospect 15-0 up and comer Benavidez takes on former George Groves foe Denis Douglin.
Stephen Ormond is also set to be shown live as the co-feature, loos to be a tough ask for Ormond up against the undefeated Alejandro Luna.

Really looking forward to the Ormond fight.
His Flanagan display doesn't look like that bad now considering what Turbos achieved.

Re: David Benavidez vs Denis Douglin
I never really thought there was anything wrong with his performance that night apart from him being silly and letting the red mist get the better of him, boxing wise he done pretty much what he couldve done although maybe a cooler head might have changed things but i doubt itPredatorHayds wrote:Really looking forward to the Ormond fight.

He's a tough guy is Ormond. Was a good win that for Flanagan. I thought Ormond was very unlucky against Appleby. I had Ormond winning that clearly.handsofstone wrote:I never really thought there was anything wrong with his performance that night apart from him being silly and letting the red mist get the better of him, boxing wise he done pretty much what he couldve done although maybe a cooler head might have changed things but i doubt itPredatorHayds wrote:Really looking forward to the Ormond fight.

I always thought he was getting outboxed and the DQ was his way of finding a way out.handsofstone wrote:I never really thought there was anything wrong with his performance that night apart from him being silly and letting the red mist get the better of him, boxing wise he done pretty much what he couldve done although maybe a cooler head might have changed things but i doubt itPredatorHayds wrote:Really looking forward to the Ormond fight.

I don't think he's world title level but he can have some good fights and make decent money s level below.
Re: David Benavidez vs Denis Douglin
Thats how I saw it to be I was at that fight and the way I remember it was that the fight was really starting to get away from Ormond when he started with the sillyness. Was a shame as was still a really good fight and deserved a better ending than a DQ.PredatorHayds wrote:I always thought he was getting outboxed and the DQ was his way of finding a way out.handsofstone wrote:I never really thought there was anything wrong with his performance that night apart from him being silly and letting the red mist get the better of him, boxing wise he done pretty much what he couldve done although maybe a cooler head might have changed things but i doubt itPredatorHayds wrote:Really looking forward to the Ormond fight.

Re: David Benavidez vs Denis Douglin
Wasnt that impressed with Benavidez, fair do's he got a last round KO and it was a good finish and the uppercut to put Douglin down in the previous round to get the ball rolling was sweet but he was quite lazy for spells and allowed Denis to swarm him at times, for me Benavidez did always have the quality and i had him in the lead at the time of the stoppage but ESPN viewers had Douglin winning before the end came
Benavidez is showing promise and he's only 19 so he will improve but plenty to work on in the gym

Looked far from the finished article. Maybe time to put the brakes on.
