Has a famous fighter ever replied to a comment on boxrec?
I was just wondering this, there are always lots of opinions about fights and fighters on here, does anyone know if any of them have replied to any of the questions to clear something up or give their version of events? I'm talking about world class or well known fighters, not journeymen.

I'm sure, David Haye and Nate Campbell used to post on Maxboxing. I ended up talking to Nate on the phone several times after some online battles.

Paul smith, Tony Bellew and Frankie Gavin used to frequent the UK board

I believe Jaime Garza posted a bit on this forum.

Paul Smith, Tony Bellew, Franki Gavin, Shannon Briggs, Jamie Moore, Kell Brook, Michael Jennings, Michael Hunter.
From memory have all posted at least once, mostly on the Brit & Irish forum obvs.

I've seen suggestions that David Haye has posted here under an alias. Carson Jones made several posts, although I haven't seen him around for a while, and I believe that David Price made a few posts in the amateur section circa 2008. Jamel Herring also used to post there before he made the Olympic team.

Yeah....an esteemed member of the Boxrec Editor team (the late great Tomato-Can) was challenged to a fistfight by one of the fighting Strickland brothers (Reggie?) resulting from a comment that Reggie didn't like from Tomato-Can. Said dustup was due to be held at the Seattle bus terminal, from memory

I chatted with former WBC World Lightweight Champion Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzalez here in boxrec.com.
Poster kikibalt is the father of former lightweight contenders Frankie and Tony Baltazar.

I was talking to Tyson Fury's cousin a while back and he told me Tyson 'checks in' from time to time. Ditto Haye according to my source in his camp.
Scully was always really nice and it's a shame he isn't on here still.
He isn't a boxer, but Eddie Hearn keeps an eye on things. Frank Maloney also used to post in B&I.
Didn't Rob Calloway used to post in CS?

Do you recall what kinda stuff came up in conversation? I assume it was a lot of Boxing talk, but anything particularly interesting?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:He was cool.crusader wrote:How did the phone calls go?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I'm sure, David Haye and Nate Campbell used to post on Maxboxing. More personal stuff. I can't stand his crook manager Terry trekas and we went at it all the time on max boxing. Nate and I were arguing and he pmd me his number. He respected that I've fought before and we talked for quite a while. Other than that just for blogs a few times.gilgamesh wrote:Do you recall what kinda stuff came up in conversation? I found it interesting that Paul Williams didn't watch boxing at all.

Just wasn't a fan, he'd rather fish than watch anything. This was years ago, I'd guess 07 or 08.Tomasino wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I found it interesting that Paul Williams didn't watch boxing at all.
