What would have happened if they had met in 2000?

I think Lennox would stop him somewhere between the 5th and 7th rounds

Lennox by shutout decision, Byrd was tough enough not to go out in 2 or 3 rounds, Lennox usually went for that and if they were still around he'd settle for out-boxing his opponent.

Lennox would have been the favourite. After his victory over Holyfield, I wouldn't have said that there would have many Heavies who could give him a lot of trouble.
But I do think that Chris Byrd would have been one of them.

So whilst Lewis very probably would have won it... Maybe Byrd's speed and slippery style could have squeezed an MD or an SD. Stranger things have happened.

Lewis victory in about about 7-8 rounds.
Byrd did heaps at heavyweight with what he'd got - fair play to Chris - but Lewis was a big, mobile guy who'd have got through at some point.

Lewis would have won in a fashion similar to Wlad's in his rematch against Byrd.

Lewis has significant size advantage and knows how to use it. Similar to Wlad-Byrd.

Pretty certain Lewis would have found a way to win it.........but Byrd had the skills, discipline and gameplan to do more than ok in some pretty unpromising situations for a small HW.

Maybe he lasts the distance and pinches a few early rounds too?
