What the hells going on with Naz? He's been pretty rotund and porky for a good few years now but the other day he looked feckin obese! He's only like 5'4 or something as well! Is he a proper Muslim and stays away from the drink and drugs? That can't just all be kebab weight surely?

I used to love that fat slag growing up. Every time I see his fat chops on the TV it cuts me up! We should start a campaign to get him to release one of the excersise DVDs that all they wanker reality types do for Xmas! He'd make a killing if he managed to shift the weight! Can't be healthy. He's got more crack than Paisley ffs!

It always annoyed me that he retired so early and never really officially announced it. I loved MAB but I think a hungry Naz under Ingle would've dealt with him. Nobody can knock his achievements or question his talent but he could've been so much better IMO.

It always annoyed me that he retired so early and never really officially announced it. I loved MAB but I think a hungry Naz under Ingle would've dealt with him. Nobody can knock his achievements or question his talent but he could've been so much better IMO.

I dunno, looking back MAB was a big leap in class from who he was fighting (tho there were good names in there)

You would think he would have some pride and slim down a bit. Going from an athlete in peak condition to what he is today is quite sad. I loved watching Naz and in some respects i don't think he's been replaced. The guy was pure entertainment. The Barrera fight finished him really and blunted his reputation and he never got over it in my eyes. Before that, he was undefeated and knocking people out left, right and centre. Obviously Barrera was a srep up, but Naz didn't seem himself that night and fought a terrible fight. Soon after he quit, claiming his hands were shot and had been taking injections, as they would blow up through inflamation. You always got the sense thay he could have been so much more. The prince could have been a king, but instead he became a duke ☺

Naz was tremendous but think he hit his ceiling. Looked sensational against lower opponents that he was too good for. But the better class of guys were timing him. Its not like he outclassed everyone then barrerra came along and dethroned him easily enough. Was started to struggle with kelley etc. Another guy that kept hitting him all nite he claimed he had a cold for cant remember his name. Was apparent that he was started to struggle and couldnt really take it.

Great entertainment and great fighter. But barrerra was elite level. It wasnt what naz didnt do it was more about what barrera could imo.

Tbf one thing naz fans can say is what if he d have stayed with ingle. Practically the only one that understood the style properly cause he taught him it. But again was enough evidence there to suggest barrerra would have been too good for him. Didnt have a problem hitting naz all nite. Mainly because he was that good.

Yeah, totally agree with that. He became too one dimemsional and as you say, he fell in love with his power and wasn't disciplined enough.

No real argument from me cause no matter how you look at it naz was a great fighter. In his defence i actually think steward was at some fault for the barrerra fight. Didnt understand the ingle system...was trying to teach naz his way of doing things...which we all know was brilliant. But by that point the ingle system was too ingrained in naseem. We ll never know if naz could have beat him at his very best. I dont see it personally. When you look at the evidence. People have him prime for robinson. But it was only two fights later he struggled with medina. Medina didnt have a problem hitting him all nite. Because he was probably the first decent fighter naz faced. As he fought kelley etc they were all hitting him regularly. It wasnt the lack of training or falling in love with his power...it was just that the good fighters could time him.

It's on YouTube mate. He was just arsing about during training. Manny Steward put him in sparring and he was getting beat up. Manny was looking very concerned in that way he had. Naz was more concerned about spouting religious pish about his unbeaten destiny. He even messed about trying to get goat skin gloves and going on about shepherds.

I'd always thought he was a pure prick anyway but after watching that I bet on MAB and absolutely loved the fight. Was great to see the tables turned on such a vicious bully
