Usyk vs Glowacki this weekend

Post by TheLeprechaun »

Even though it's in Poland, I have Usyk winning easily.

It's a sick fight. For most people, the dream cruiserweight match-up would be Glowacki - Lebedev or Glowacki - Usyk.

I agree. It has really gone remarkable undetected. A division leader against the most exciting up-and-coming fighter in the division. Whats not to like? My bet is on Usyk – all though I dont feel certain at all.

Should be a good fight. Usyk will need to work hard to get a decision in Poland.

Is this gonna be on TV in the US? It's way more interesting than Canelo vs. Liam Smith.

Not as impressed with Usyk as some are.

He doesn't really push the pace and has had issues when opponents try to counterpunch. I kind of lean toward Glowacki, especially with the fight in Poland, but maybe Usyk will turn it up given the circumstances.

Very excited to see what happens :box:

Usyk has a great potential. I expect him to move at HW and become undisputed champion. Glowacki is a very tough guy, but I can not see him as a winner.

can't wait to attend it at Gdansk's Ergo Arena! i think this fight will be somehow similar to Glowacki-Usyk, i mean Usyk winning the fight on the scorecards and being stopped late.

I doubt that Usyk will be winning on cards in Poland. He is the one who needs to look for a stoppage.

Usually when fighters come over with big reputations and a lot of hype, it's harder for them to get robbed. Haye vs valuev, Fury vs Klitschko etc And Germany had the worst reputation for robberies.

I respect your opinion and agree Usyk didn't look as good vs Venter but I thought he was always in control. He got him out of there beautifully. Glowacki has been hurt a few times now and has height and reach disadvantages here. And against someone who moves better than him too. This is the most important fight of Usyks entire career so I expect the best Usyk and I expect him to win the fight from the outside. If he wins it clearly, I expect him to get it on the cards. I think it will be very clear that Usyk is the superior boxer. I'm expecting a late stoppage.

it is an advantage that the fight is held in Poland, but do you think that judging in Poland is worse than in Germany, UK or USA? if yes its because not much of high level events are held here and you find it kinda ''exotic''? im rooting for Glowacki, but i hope the better gonna win with no robbery :bag:

i dont know how good Usyk's chin really is, but every good boxers who sparred with Glowacki (like Wlodarczyk or Szpilka) say that he can punch really really hard. and he is the kind of boxer who is better vs high level opposition

How about one of the last fights she judged....she had Jose Benavidez winning 10-0 over Francisco Santana in what was more like a 6-4 fight.

I will say, that while her track record is overall poor IMO, she did score against Alvarez in the Khan fight.

expected more of examples (including examples of top-class fights) if she's really one of the worst in boxing. but yes ive seen this fight and it was like 7-3 or 6-4 as you say

There are more examples going back many years, but I don't feel like listing them all. Some others were giving Kessler only 2 rounds in the Froch rematch and giving Molina only 4 rounds in his title win over Ishe Smith. For in-house fights, she also had Broner-Porter way too close IMO, and was extremely harsh in giving Mansour only 3 rounds against Washington.

Actually, looking over her judging record I suppose it's not too bad, as in there's plenty of 'wtf' on it, but not that much more than we get from most higher profile judges. I think it's her recent shitty judging in the Benavidez fight being fresh in my memory....

I don't expect judging to be any better than in Germany or U.K. Glowacki is a champion fighting at home with his promoter in charge, so Usyk will need a KO or a few KDs to win.
