Boxing Eliminators

Post by JamieM »

Hey guys what's the rules regarding the British title and fighting eliminators? Barring a voluntary defence can you
Be made mandatory for a British title without fighting and eliminator? I'm sure I read somewhere you can't but not positive?

I think u can. Frankie gavin never boxed an eliminator but was made mandatory for witter. I think if u hold a national title that helps u get passed depending on the opponent and the opposition u have faced.

Also I'm sure eubank jnr was made mandatory for bjs even tho he withdrew from a couple of final eliminators

Is this the road you are trying to get Ronnie down for a shot at the British? Not being funny but there are still a few boxers that deserve a shot at the British in front of him and imo should try force a fight with one of these.

Would like to see him vs Andy Townend to measure where Ronnie is sitting just now, if he beats him better than Martin J Ward then that would make a statement :TU:

Not at all, and I wouldn't do it a day before board notices either. I genuinely didn't know if eliminators were necessary and often have found threads in people
Saying they need to win an eliminator first. Ronnie has won an eliminator and we expect to have a final eliminator . I don't believe Cacace makes 9"4 that's just me and if he does Martin j ward will vacate. Eddie Hearn already hinting it. That title will be vacant. As for people
More deserving Townend just lost his fight, be Ronnie or
Maxi realistically

Never said Townend was more deserving just that it would be a good fight to see where Ronnie was at :TU:

Also doubt that Martin J Ward will vacate if he has to face Cacace, apart from beating Ronnie what else has Cacace done to make Ward worry about him? Ronnie is the best name on his record to date but if we are totally honest Ronnie has came up short under british level on 3 occasions now against Troy James, Craig Evans and Anthony Cacace as well as drawing with Maxi Hughes and Ryan Walsh. Although I think Ronnie will eventually get a tilt at the British and also give a very good account of himself but just on what I have witnessed against Cacace and McCorry I feel he will fall short. Not having a go at him just being honest :TU:

George jupp has withdrawn from purse bids so is not in the picture. Mate trust me nobody wants to fight Cacace. It wouldn't surprise me if ward vacated and Ronnie fights him again. Ronnie won't avoid it and believes he wins
Second fight. But as I said he won't make the weight. Martin j ward is gonna want to defend against either
Maxi or Ronnie . Easier fights in his eyes. Wards team offered Ronnie fight before and when he accepted they said no. Ward looked good on sat though so fair play to him. Ronnie was beat on a split from Troy James and was robbed against Craig Evans. Ryan Walsh his own reported said Ronnie won lol, and the maxi Hughes fight even bully Nelspn fought Ronnie won, if he's saying that then you know ha.

Your really building cacace up as soon sort of monster mate. Granted I haven't seen his fight with ronnie. His done everything asked of him as a pro and looking at his record decent power ( wat were the scores at the time of the stoppage).

Jupp fight hasn't come off due to money.( it's poor and hope the board take note of that)

the comments about hearn talking of vacating where were they. Don't forget hearn won purse bid for ward to face walsh and pushed for the fight. So if which I'm guessing will happen cacace will b his mandatory. The fight will happen.

After the fight Ward says he wants to move on to bigger things.. He won't be around for long.. If you read anything I put about Townend I said he is a different fighter when he gets hit. I also used to push and push for that fight because I knew Ronnie would do what Ward done. Townend is far to easy to hit. As for who's more deserving than Ronnie?? Cacacae is the only one.. Jupp pulled out of purse bids so will not be considered would of been a easy one for Warren to win.. Hughes... Cacacae and Clark all beat Jupp.. Evans is fighting Stalker again at lightweight there is no one else up there yet.. Ward will have a voluntary soon I would think then try and position himself for the European.. I actually think the British will be harder to hold onto than winning the European.. I think the all beat Juli Giner easily

I wudnt b surprised if Ronnie gets the nod for wards voluntary defence. Ward beat maxi convincingly last time so won't want to go over old ground. Cacace will b his mandatory so they won't go that route if he can get a voluntary in first. Imo the board sudnt allow jupp until he gets a decent win after pulling out of final eliminator.

James and townend need to rebuild. Ronnie has a solid record but I'm guessing wards team wud fancy it.

I think in Hearns eyes Ronnie will be an easy defence.. Looking at his record as people point out he's lost every time he has stepped up.. This fight is very interesting because Ronnie is a lot better than Townend and will land on Ward.. If Ward sticks to a game plan is a good fight
