Bad times at B0xnati0n?

It's not been good times for the past 6 to 8 weeks for customers of the channel. There's been very little live action during this period, maybe 2 cards, with regular shows like Boxing Matters, Bunce's Boxing Hour and The Cassius & Helder show having summer breaks.

There's also been a spate of big fights being called off over the past 2 weeks. SKY have managed to grab the rights to Kovalev Vs. Ward and generally have a packed schedule for the next 2 months after a barren summer period of boxing output themselves.

In terms of confirmed big international fights between now and Christmas there's only really 1 show B0xnati0n can go for at the moment and that's Pacman Vs. Vargas at the start of November. Interestingly this seems to be forcing B0xnati0n to deliver what some subscribers have been shouting our for for years, regular domestic action shown at primetime on a Friday or Saturday. The channel has often received flak for relying too heavily on the international scene and neglecting small hall shows.

Here's B0xnati0ns line-up for the next couple of months. Not sure why all of the shows haven't been added to their website yet:

1st October - MGM Promotions show from Glasgow
8th October - Liam Walsh Vs. Andrey Klimov
15th October - Ryan Walsh Vs. Dennis Ceylan
22nd October - Liam Williams Vs. Ahmet Patterson
5th November- Jamie Conlan Vs. TBA
25th November - Joe Mullender Vs. Lee Markham

Is a line up of that quality, with big international fights thrown in here and there, enough to keep subscribers happy? For me SKY are blowing B0xnati0n out the water in terms of live shows and general boxing content over the next 2 months. Been a subscriber to the channel since the start, and have always been hapy with their content, but the past 2 months and the next 2 months have not been a golden period for the channel. Unlucky with Fury Vs. Klitschko but was that ever really going to take place?

It's not been great recently, and they have been extremely unfortunate with the Fury-Klitschko cancellations. But a loyal customer should stick with them, through good times and bad, and it still pisses over Sky imo

I'm thinking the same. I can get it on Kodi but I've kept my subscription to support the channel as they've provided plenty of good nights in the past but it's not looking good at the moment.

Think they've put all there time and effort into the Fury fight and now its all gone wrong wonder if they didn't have this if they would of tried to get Ward/Kovalev

Yeah I think I'll do the same. Wait til Jan and see what's on the horizon. If it's still the same I'll patch it til they get their act together.

I'm considering doing it today myself. I've just paid my monthly subscription fee 2 days ago so I'd lose the channel around 22nd October. SKY Sports is currently £13.75 per month for 3 months. Thinking it's worth having SKY Sports at 1/2 price to the end of the year instead of B0xnati0n. An extra £1.75 per month isn't that bad. I'll then consider my options in Janaury.

I know what your saying mate. I'm nearly 40 with a young family. I never go out on a Saturday these days. I like watching boxing on a Saturday night with a few beers. The fights on SKY aren't blockbusters but they're on every week for about the next 6 weekends or so.

I personally prefer the international content to the subpar domestic product that FW tends to put on these days. If he forgets the international content I'll probably cancel my subscription.

I know it costs a fair but for tv production costs but it may be a venture for him to cut a deal with some smaller promoters. Steve wood, MGM, sanigar, Mcclory (who is already the matchmaker) and Carl greaves run plenty of shows up and down the country. Would add some live content. I doubt the promoters would want anything and be happy to have tv as it attracts sponsors.

It has been the season break in August in fairness. Shame they didn't get Kovalev. Their coverage / presenters are so much better than Sky. I have been happy with the last couple of years that I have subscribed and happy to keep on going with it.

But I wish they would copy SKY and put an advert on between every round of a fight though, sort of kills the atmosphere having to watch the corners instructions and having to listen to the commentary team analyse the fights, I'd much rather watch an advert for Maximuscle and Halifax building society for the twentieth time in one evening.

I know we had Canelo - Smith, but did they really not have any live UK action in September or did I miss something. Pretty poor really given August was non-existant (as you would expect).

I've been a subscriber since day 1 and although I've been a critic at times in the past I hope the current barren schedule isn't indicative of problems with the channel as a whole. I think the channel could do so much better in terms of how it communicates with its subscribers, we all groan when yet another BN fight falls through (3 in the last week is it ?), I am sure the Warren's are just as fed up, they should be on ifilm within hours saying so and assuring fans they're working hard to plug the gaps. It's ok for Fwank to use ifilm to slag off the Eubanks, which is always entertaining, but he should be talking to his subscriber base through kugan's camera and telling us how hard they're working to line up other fights. If Eddie owned and ran BN he would be doing this morning, noon and night.

The cancellations are nothing new, two years back you could predict those copper box shows were going to fall through before they fell through, but I am sure if Fwank had his way he would be giving us all these fights and I bet he is totally fed up. BN has been around long enough for all concerned to be realistic about where it sits in the spectrum of boxing coverage. They should be proud of the channel, but there is so much more that could be done to communicate directly with fans I feel. If Fwank popped up on ifilm today saying something like "I don't fxxking believe it, fury/wlad is jinxed and I am sick of it" he would win over a lot of subscribers who, according to the comments earlier in this thread, are considering jacking in their subscription.

I love the idea of watching good fights at home on a Saturday night, but more often than not I'm sat on the sofa on a Sunday morning watching UFC with a very mild hangover.

Tonight is okay but not exactly mind blowing stuff. I'll be all eyes for the main event though. Linares is clearly no joke.

Watching the SKY show tonight courtesy of my Mum and Dad. Signed up to use their Virgin Media TV Anywhere account. My Dad has SKY Sports and BT Sports. Logged in via my laptop which I've hooked up to my TV by HDMI. Picture quality is excellent.

I'll buy him a slab of beers as a thank you. I'll just continue to do this in future for fight nights on SKY. Worth considering if you have close friends or family who don't mind you mooching of their account lol

i was seriously thinking of cancelling today but checked next month's schedule and saw liam walsh, ryan walsh and liam williams in decent fights. ill stick with it but where is the buncey show??? just what am i paying 12 quid a month for????

the lack of fights from abroad isn't great but if there are no fights on than they cant bid for them! this Premier Boxing Champions/ Al Haymon thing looked good in the early days but now it just looks to be bad for Boxing both over there and here!
