Adam Booth (ex) Fighter

Post by Taansend »

What was the name of the little bloke (around Bantam) that Adam said was the most talented fighter he'd trained.

He was from Northampton or some other small town that's not known for producing too many boxers.

Last time i saw him here was losing to an Iraqi Taffy or something like that.

Cheers.

Could be Michael Maguire - boxed out of Kettering as amateur (I think) but from Peterborough.

Can't recall him training with Booth, but lost to Najah Ali (spelling may be off).

Was it not Ryan Burnett who he still trains?

*Just noticed the OP said the guy was from Northampton. Burnett is from Belfast but I'm sure I read Booth saying he was the most talented fighter he'd trained. It was fairly recently as well. I've never been overly impressed but he's a talented kid all the same.

It was Maguire. Cheers.

And the comment was allegedly made about half a dozen years ago.

And I remember the interview with Ali afterwards. His accent was all over the place

I was just thinking about fighters that were talanted but went nowhere.

There was a kid out of Detroit a few years back who was meant to be special but fizzled out.

Another from upstate New York who recently got an axe in the head.
