My vote: Christian Hammer

Ordinarily Hammer would be a disagreeable choice, but he is coming off a decent win so ill second the notion.

Lets not waste too much time with this, there a lot of heavyweight bouts coming up in the next couple months, the rankings will sort themselves out and Hammer will likely get squeezed out soon enough.

Christian Hammer

David Haye. Crap comeback opposition or not he'd crush half the guys on the list without breaking a sweat. Would Christian Hammer even be considered a good opponent for him?

For the record, I agree Haye likely beats Hammer, but I go more on quality of wins and strength of opposition.

So you don't look who's the best boxer, but who proved it the most? In that case the boxrec rankings are perfect, or Charles Martin should still be ranked above the possibly soon to be removed Glazkov.

Who-beats-who is definitely a factor in deciding where people should be ranked, but it's highly subjective. For instance, I think Haye probably beats Hammer, but it's not the foregone conclusion that some are making it out to be - Chisora was making Haye work hard in their fight and could conceivably have won had he lasted a few more rounds. I'm not sure Hammer is so much worse than Chisora and I'm not sure Haye is as good as he was then, so a Hammer win wouldn't be out of the question. On recent resume, Hammer is clearly ahead, so that's where my vote goes.

The BoxRec ratings are pretty good, but there will always be results that are given more or less weight than they deserve, which is where voting based rankings like these are better. Although it was a retirement win, I did vote for Charles Martin to be ranked ahead of Glazkov, but I was in the minority.

Johan Duhaupas

I would not be too sad to see some changes on the lower part of this list. Szpilka, Chisora and Stiverne all seem pretty weak currently.

Hammer, Ruiz and Duhaupas all could be on the list. Good argument could be made for anyone of them.

My vote goes to Haye.

Hes opposition has been abysmal lately and hes been off for long time. Still he seems to bee in good condition and sharp. I think hes form and old achievements warrants spot on the list.

Make a case for Andy Ruiz being in the top 15? Impossible and same for the Chinese Zhang Junlong in the top 15 having face one top 100 opponent who was a cruiserweight. Haye makes some sense on the grounds of subjectively he beats a lot of those in the top 15.

Hammer has far more right than Chisora whose only real claim is he went all twelve with Pulev, which then brings back Malik Scott who you voted out.

Correct, but they were not top 100 heavyweights when they fought Zhang. Zhang fought Shaun Cox who was a cruiserweight and ranked 35 at the time. www.premierboxingorganisation.com/heavyweight-200
At 35 Zhang needs to make a move, it is pretty weak from 10 downwards in my opinion, he should be fighting people top 50 ranked or at least top 100 someone that does not suggests to me he is not really capable, but I have not seen him really other than a couple of clips.

Wrong, they were top 100 at the time and Arias wasn't KOed for over a decade I thought and only AJ showed a similar result against Gavern.

George Arias was 107 at the time of the fight.
Jason Gavern was 115 at the time of the fight.

They could have been in boxrec's top 100.

Do you still want to press your case that Zhang deserves that top 15 slot?
