Any takers anyone......??
I'm jest off to work
THE job of the first state jester to be employed in England since 1649 is up for grabs.
English Heritage has revived the post, abolished by killjoy Oliver Cromwell after the execution of King Charles I, and has put an advert in today’s Times.
It reads: “Jester wanted. Must be mirthful and prepared to work summer weekends in 2005. Must have own outfit (with bells). Bladder on stick provided.”
Hopefuls will have to audition in front of an audience at a history festival in Stoneleigh Park, Warwicks, on Saturday.
if i could get the time off id go down for an interview myself. standing in the middle of a field juggling whilst shouting such absurdities as "Audley Harrisons career is going well" or "Ricky Hatton will fight Vivian Harris or any other 'live' opponenet" should garuntee plenty of extra groats in my jesters tights this summer. Forsooth and betwixt fair maiden
