Which boxer will earn the top spot as boxing's best boxer?

Post by Jip »

loma doesnt have big name opponent in his weight class, but 1 division higher guys like mickey, verdejo or rances are waiting. talent wise he is head and shoulder over the rest.

kovalev and ward showed us how limited they were. one couldnt end a fight and seemed to have condition let downs, the other did more illegal dirty stuff than anything else, jab grab hold is not the story of a p4p king

could it be roman gonzales, who would make a big big statemants towards the #1 spot if he gets the chance fighting and defeating the ultra talented inoue

or is it crawford, who certainly will end up at 147 during 2017

The chances seem high that Gonzalez gets beat in the next year or two so I doubt it'll be him. Lomachenko and Crawford both have potential to shoot up the rankings in a big way depending on who they're matched against. Loma just did with his win over Walters. Crawford's sure-fire win over Molina isn't gonna advance him any. A win over Troyanovsky might advance him a few spots, but he won't climb too much higher on a lot of P4P lists without dipping his toes in the Welterweight division.

A Kovalev/Ward rematch could advance a winner to #1 if the winner is clear this time.

GGG won't advance to #1 unless he gets 2 out of the 3 of Canelo, Jacobs or Saunders all in one year which seems unlikely.

I'm thinking it'll be Loma

I already have Crawford there, don't see him losing next year though I doubt Bob serves manny up to him in a fight that won't do big business.

I figure it's Bob's plan to give Manny either Crawford or Lomachenko one. Bob knows the game enough to know that Manny's time is almost up and it's time to build the next cash cow off of the old one.

Freddie Roach probably wouldn't let Manny fight Crawford though. Lomachenko they might be a little more flexible on, they'll just want to fight to be at Welterweight or something.

He's already missed that point in pac's career. He's not doing big numbers anymore to make another cash cow. I'll bet Bob goes back and tries to get broner. That would sell much more than Crawford.

Manny, broner and al wouldn't go near Crawford. None of the pbc guys will. I have no idea what they're going to do with him. Maybe matthysse if he comes back well.

Manny beating Broner would probably elevate the interest in him a little more making a big fight with him against Crawford or Lomachenko more marketable. I'd confidently pick Manny to beat Broner still.

Ward and Krusher are limited now? They both faced the best competition that anyone has this year. Now because it was a close fight that could have gone either way they are limited according to you.

1. Ward
2. Krusher
3. Crawford
4. Chocolatito
5. Pac
6. Lomassiah
7. 3G
8. GingerHead
9. Frampton
10. Sometimes
11. Danny

I believe that under the right circumstances any of these 11 could be # 1 by 2018.

Oh yeah. He'd thrash broner. Wouldn't be enough to sell a ppv with Crawford or Loma to the point that it would make them a draw. Boxing is dead as a big sport here bro. Ggg/canelo is about the only big ppv that could be made.

I'm going for Loma and I'm not a huge fan of the little guys, but he is that good.

Canelo is highest grossing boxer by far at this point. He's so far ahead of everyone else that it's not even close. That will continue to grow leading up to the end of 2017 when he's supposedly fighting GGG. If that fight happens, it will be enormously profitable. Top 5 money grossing in history.
