Vlasov KO's Chakhkiev

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

MegaSport Arena in Moscow, Russia:

In an exciting knockdown-filled fight, WBO #10 cruiserweight Maxim Vlasov (37-2, 19 KOs) scored a seventh round KO over WBO #11, IBF #12 Rakhim Chakhkiev (26-3, 19 KOs).

Vlasov dropped Chakhkiev three times in round five. Both fighters were down in round six.

Vlasov finally knocked Chakhkiev out in round seven. It could be the end of the line as a contender for Chakhkiev, a former Olympic gold medalist.

He must be one of the biggest "busts" in recent times. Great fun to watch but he was tipped for a mega career and ended up just...being a fun guy to watch

Chak's chin and stamina arent good enough for a high output slugger

I would guess from his physique that he has done entirely too much lifting.

The guy could never make the transition from 4 rds of the amateurs to 12rds of pros.
For a southpaw, he's got one of the worst defense i have ever seen.
He was making up for it with great offense, but now that his chin has been cracked, even that is out of the window.

He should retire, it's sad to see him lose against fighters he would have eaten alive just 4 years ago.

His resistence looked horrible.

Vlasov was hardly putting anything into those straight rights, yet they had Chak all over the place. I agree that he should call it a day.

That looked so bad, his shaky legs, no guard, omg if I wouldn't know he was Olympic gold medalist I would never believe it.
