Chisora vs Whyte
Chisora vs Whyte
Got a panic on - in the heat of the moment I put a big bet on Whyte to win. Not great odds but money I have never gambled with before - now I'm worried Chisora of old may come back and haunt me. Please reassure me in this poll that Whyte will win?

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
I'm going with Whyte on points too.
It's not going to be a pretty fight & there'll be a lot of ugliness & needle, but I'm leaning towards Whyte.
I've never really rated Chisora & to be honest, I'm not that sold on Whyte either, but I think he's a little better than Chisora.

Chisora is shot what odds did you get?
I would not be surprised is Whyte stopped him in about 8

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Chisora has a lot of experience being in these big fights (well he's been in much much bigger than this), but Whyte is looking in the best shape of his life and looks like a man who's pretty invested in his boxing career (whereas before he was looking like he was just going through the motions).
Whyte has a significant height and reach advantage, and I expect his to out manoeuvre and outbox Del Boy. Give it a wide points decision for Whyte. There is a danger that Whyte returns to his sluggish and brawling ways, but I'm hoping he's smarter than that and gets behind the jab, as Pulev did.
How much did you put on?

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Which Chisora will show up ?
If he's in shape and motivated he's got too much high-level experience for Whyte imo.
BIG IF tho...

Whyte in an absolute howler! I wasn't going to do any nose candy this weekend but the thought of this fight has my nostrils flaring!
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Sorry mate I'm backing Chisora. I've not been impressed with Whyte and his opposition hasn't been all that. Joshua smashed him to bits, other than that one good punch landed. Chisora, if he wants it, is just better.

Shit odds, but did an accumalator to make it 1/1 with the rest of obvious undercard adding to it

I'd rather not say in case my Mrs some how see's this, she wont but xmas would be over!
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Pretty much what I think. Chisora's still got enough left to make it a very frustrating night for Whyte. I can't see Whyte stopping Del Boy and I'm not sure he's got the patience to grind out a points win against someone as awkward as Chisora.clopixolacuphase wrote:Sorry mate I'm backing Chisora. Re: Chisora vs Whyte
I just don't get what people see in Whyte. Can't understand why he's favourite, will defibately be taking a few quid on Del Boy.
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
The only way I can see people choosing Whyte is due to how unpredictable Chisora's conditioning and performances are. A Chisora at 100% would possibly also beat Joshua, at least give him nightmares.

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
A Chisora at 100% has never beaten anyone of note, unless you rate Malik Scott as the second coming (which he ain't)
Whyte will be too busy for Chisora and plod his way to a points decision, with Chisora having the odd success with his little bursts which is about as much as he can sustain these days.
It will probably be fight of the year now i've said that

So Whyte will be busier, even though he can't maintain as much of a workrate.Twinkle Toes wrote:A Chisora at 100% has never beaten anyone of note, unless you rate Malik Scott as the second coming (which he ain't)

But Chisora's only beaten Scott, Helenious, and Gerber, whereas Whyte has wins over Brian Minto, Dave Allen and a guy that lost to Colin Kenna (knocked out in a round by Gerber).
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Whyte's work rate in his last two fights has been very good, and he has improved his engine too. I'd fancy Whyte to currently beat anyone Chisora has on his record, and that's the Chisora of a few years ago. He's taken a few poundings since, which suggests he won't be as sharp coming into this. If Whyte is smart, he'll get behind the jab, frustrate Chisora and then look for the big overhand rights.BitPlayer wrote:So Whyte will be busier, even though he can't maintain as much of a workrate.Twinkle Toes wrote:A Chisora at 100% has never beaten anyone of note, unless you rate Malik Scott as the second coming (which he ain't)

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
I don't think Whyte is that great- that said, I don't believe Chisora is all that either. For me he's overrated due to the fact that everytime he's stepped up he's lost. I don't believe Whyte and Chisora are that far apart talent wise and Whyte is the fresher of the two. Chisora's best performances were like 6 odd years ago.
I fancy Whyte in a 8-4 or 9-3 type affair where Chisora gets pretty badly beaten up or a late stoppage win for Whyte between 9 and 12. Time will ultimately tell though.

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
I wouldn't say that Whyte's work rate was 'very good' in his last two. It may have been steady, but for the most part those were slow-paced fights in which his opponents offered little; Allen barely threw, and Lewison tired very quickly due to being grossly out of shape.

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
really does depend what chisora turns up, think whyte wins by wide ud but like others have said its probably going to be ugly but should get to a slugfest towards the end.
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
I'd argue they both look pretty sluggish, so I expect that the fight will become a lot of hugging, short bursts, and some speculative jabbing.BitPlayer wrote:Here's a side by side comparison of random* parts from Whyte Lewison late on and Pulev Chisora late on.

First few rounds will likely be a bit frantic, but once the fight settles into its rhythm, I expect it to lose it's appeal as a contest pretty quickly.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Any odds on a fighter being disqualified? Could be either to be honest.
Re: Chisora vs Whyte
Chisora does love a good nibble. Probably should have been DQ'd trying to chew Butlin's ear off.mfc_se15 wrote:Any odds on a fighter being disqualified? Could be either to be honest.

Re: Chisora vs Whyte
There's nothing unpredictable about Chisora's conditioning; it's nearly always woeful, or at best, below par.Emmseegee wrote:The only way I can see people choosing Whyte is due to how unpredictable Chisora's conditioning and performances are. Chisora has always lost when he has stepped up in class & even if he was 155%, he's get splattered by Joshua.
