Vijender Singh vs Francis Cheka

Post by handsofstone »

Tomorrow from 4pm on allegedly,I don't know much about Cheka really but it seems to me to be a step back for Singh coming off the dominant win over Hope and going the distance for the 1st time and getting a good 10 rounds under his belt,I like Singh I think he's improving all the time, there have been a couple of ordinary spells but on a whole I think he's developing well, seems as if Wazza isn't quite sure to let him off the leash yet

Cheka has point losses to Macklin and Smigga but he's also been KO'd by Stieglitz and Fedor Chudinov among others so I'd be disappointed if Singh can get rid of him

Cheka has been around forever I remember his fight with Paul Smith then he fought Geard Ajetovic who I see he beat again recently.

Weird one with Singh, restricted on opponents as it's the Asia Pacific title, an interesting one, FW mentioned they offered Renold Quinlan, who's boxing Chris Eubank Jr, the fight but he never responded.

Like to see Singh get rid of this guy early and move onto much bigger things in the new year.

Think I'll record this and watch on Sunday when I get peace. I have a few shows on record and I've only watched the mains so I have some under cards to catch up on.

Is this all that's on boxing wise all weekend?

Cheers mate. Forgot about them. I was hoping BN would've picked up the Povetkin v Stiverne fight. There's a decent looking card in France on Saturday night as well. Maybe get them on Kodi?

Yeah Cheka has been around for donkeys. Remember that Ajetovic fight. Think he might've fought Brian Magee at one point but he was a staple of the 2000 Commonwealth scene at nmiddleweight.

Well that was shite,Cheka quits after spitting his gumshield out in the 3rd,Singh landed some solid looking right hands that was it,he wasn't great struggled to get his jab off and looked a bit fleshy around the midriff

Nothing gained and the only thing predictably learned was that Cheka was a step back from Hope, the Indians lapped it up though

Just watched it now. Singh did look very fleshy, although I guess he didn't have to train very hard for this particular bout.

Anyone see the undercard fight that was a disgrace.

The Indian fella bit, stamped on his head, hit him whilst he was laying on his back and didn't even get a point off from the Indian ref.
