Cancelled Sky because of their terrible boxing coverage last week and now have Virgin media. Taped the Barrera vs Shanransky fight last night and the picture quality was shocking.

Rang virgin and they say if I want BN in HD then I need to pay an extra £7 a month on top of the £12 a month it costs for BN. Even though I'm already paying extra for HD on my Existing channels- WTF? £19 a month to get BN on HD?

Is this the same with everyone else?

The person at Virgin Media hasn't given you correct information. B0xnati0n is not available on Virgin Media in HD. It's just the normal SD channel you get I'm afraid.

Yep, massively frustrating. If Sky can do it, no reason why Virgin can't.

I hate Sky with a passion but Virgin is one pain in the arse trying to navigate the home page or tape stuff.

Same. I moved to Virgin in the summer as was sick of Sky's ridiculous prices. Getting nearly as much stuff with Virgin for less than half the price, plus got a free Samsung tablet for signing up, so moving was a no-brainer. But must admit, the Sky user interface & general experience is miles ahead of Virgin, and am majorly missing Sky Atlantic and BN HD.

As far as I'm aware you don't pay a registration for BN on virgin which is decent but I'm nearly 30 a month for just sky sports! Pish poor!

note wrong with the picture quality??? and that barrera v shanransky card was one of the best in a while. singh was ok and also hopkins tonight. all for 12 quid a month, quit your bealing!

It's Virgin that won't allow it, not BN. Think it's due to the way Virgin operate their programme guide, or something equally stupid.

Virgin are interested in B0xnati0n HD but only if it ever launches as a full time dedicated channel. Virgin Media is a closed platform. If Virgin want to carry a channel they have to pay the channel operator (in this case B0xnati0n) to have the channel on their platform. Virgin don't want to pay to have a channel that only operates between 6 and 12 hours per week.

It's worth a try however Virgin don't look like they're in any rush to negotiate any new deals with B0xnati0n.

90% of available channels are absolute garbage anyway, so I think Virgin should start accounting for quality as well as quantity.

BN operates 24/7 on virgin, although only 6-12 hours may be new stuff. I agree the picture quality could be better. I don't know why anyone would have a problem recording the channel; just use the channel guide to find the programme and press "Record". Record the next programme as well if you think it may over-run.

I pay 12 a month I think for BN. I'm sure on Sky and anywhere else you need to pay like 10 or 12 registration fee on top of that which you don't have to pay on Virgin.
