I was attending a match at a hotel in Tampa recently and saw someone that looked very familiar to me. I approached him and asked if his name was Phil Kurzhals, he said "no" but I still swear that it was him. There is also no record of his anywhere on this site and I know for a FACT that he has a pro record. We were mixed up in some boxing investigations back in the early to mid eighties, and he dropped off the planet soon after that leaving behind a very impressive record. I never heard another word about him and can find no record of his anywhere on the internet.
He was one of the best fighters that I ever saw and maybe the best that I ever compeated against. Does anyone know I wouldn't be able to find a record on him here?
Birthplace: Estipac Jalisco
Height: 5'9
Reach: 70
Many nicknames but none stuck.
I have an old record of 25-0 for Phil and he fought out of Elgin, Illinois. Nickname was "Thunder". I believe that he ahd an alias but can not find anything there also. Is it possible for someone to vanish?
I can't imagine that this boxer just disappeared, he must have fought under a different name. If you know which weightclass and roughly during what time he was active maybe we can track him down.
Should I change the spelling of your last name to Lomelli?
Regards.
You can leave the spelling as it is. I just went back to the traditional speeling after boxing.
I know that Phil fought as a lightweight between 1982 - 1985. The strangest part is that I fought him and he is not listed as part of my record either. This is very weird.
