IMO, Hammer remains underrated, even after beating Teper, and Price remains overrated, even after numerous KO defeats. I am really looking forward to this fight, because hopefully it will realign peoples' perception of Hammer and Price.

I'd make Hammer a slight favourite based on who they've fought and beaten, but Price will have a huge size advantage and will surely have a big puncher's chance at the very least. I think the longer the fight goes, the more it goes in Hammer's favour, Price's stamina was poor when he weighed 250lb, now he's nearly 280lb it's not going to be any better.

Whilst it's clear that David Price is very limited, if he can remain relaxed (as he won't have to endure any pressure caused by the burden of expectation), then I expect him to defeat Christian Hammer with relative ease, perhaps by stoppage, in what will probably be a fairly dull fight.

If price can't get past hammer then he really needs to hang them up. I think price will beat him, Hammer hasn't got the punch to Ko price which means he's gunna have to do something to stop the bombs.

Hammer is underrated, but I don't think he has the power or style to concern Price. Price has real power, can't see Hammer lasting the distance in this one.

I think Hammer wins if he survives the first few rounds. Hammer has decent skills for a HW, while Price hasn't beaten anyone decent in his entire career and is apparently now fat as fornicate to boot.

Doesn't have the power to hurt Price? David is very fragile (3 stoppage losses, dropped by Pala, down loads in the amateurs), and while Hammer isn't a massive hitter he's not featherfisted either; that he knocked an opponent out cold is enough to suggest to me that he can hurt Price.

I'm sure any heavyweight has the power to hurt another. However, I don't think Hammer has the power or style to concern Price. Price has trouble when he gets overwhelmed which has come against a swarming attack from drugged up Teper and being unable to deal with the height/range of Tony Thompson. Hammer is significantly shorter than anyone who has beaten Price and is more of a clever boxer.

Granted, I didn't Price was fat and sloppy now. That would change the game.

Hammer is about the same height as Teper; don't let the Turk's bogus 6'5" listing fool you. Going by the pictures I've seen, it also seems that the tiny height advantage Teper has is mainly due to head length, which doesn't afford much of a functional benefit.

Price has never won above British domestic level, and it's been 5 years since he was beating Sam Sexton and company. Ya, he's really tall and can punch, but he's majorly flawed and his results don't suggest that this should be a cakewalk. Given the fragility he's shown dating back to his amateur days, I also don't think we should assume that Hammer's power won't seriously bother him.

Price always has the power to take out anyone the problem is I'm not sure he has stamina or punch resistance if he doesn't hit them harder first. Always the feeling that the better fighters will avoid getting sparked by him while being able to take him out

It's not like Tony Thompson was some huge powerhouse. I think people are overestimating Price here.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying aside from the fact that I don't think Hammer has enough power or the correct style to take advantage of Price's fragility. Price has world class power and less than domestic level chin and stamina. Hammer is a boxer and he fights like a boxer. Raphael Butler appears to hit harder and Price walked through him because Butler didn't scare him...Price didn't lose his confidence til TT.

Butler was a clubfighter who had 1 win in his last 5 leading up to the Price fight, and he was knocked out in both of his subsequent matches. His best win was probably in 2008 against shot Otis Tisdale, and he was clearly was brought in as an easy knock over job for Price; Hammer has far more tools to be able to exploit Price's marked shortcoming, and that makes him a much more dangerous opponent overall.

Christian does have his limitations, and it's not as if he's close to being an elite HW, but I just don't see why this should be considered a fight in which by far the most likely outcome is a comfortable Price win. I also think that Hammer, while not a big puncher, has shown that he isn't totally featherfisted (see his KTFO of Larsen), and to me that suggests that he has enough power to hurt Price.

A win for Price is very possible, but IMO even someone like Hammer is a major threat to him. Incidentally, if Price loses it will be the 4th time in his last 9 fights that he's been defeated as a comfortable betting favourite. There seems to be a common belief that he's comfortably above British domestic level, but he's never been able to get it done when he fights opponents better than that. I wonder if this will be the first time......

In my opinion, this fight goes one of 2 ways:

- Price wins by KO in the first 2-3 rounds or

- Hammer stops him (at any point)

I find it very unlikely that this goes the distance as Price has almost zero durability (which negates the fact Hammer is a massive puncher) and there are massive questions Price needs to answer about his stamina.

If Price can't get him out of there early, can only see a Hammer victory.

Watching paint dry comes to mind.. Unless hammer can bang the big stiff idiot on the mr whippee chin he's got, hopefully ending price's boxing credentials and thrusting him into ringside commentary for a living! Absolute class listening to a scouse robot who can barely speak English try and talk about boxing. "Priceless" excuse the pun.

I'd expect Hammer to win this match.

I'd like to see Trey Lippe vs Tyrone Spong actually and I know Spong lives in, or near Miami, so it's actually realistic.

A few people were way too optimistic about Price's chances here.

I don't see where anyone was "way too optimistic". Price ran out of gas again coming in the second heaviest of his career. He knocked Hammer down but was in too poor of shape to finish. He was absolutely exhausted when the ref stopped it.

Seems Price beat himself, still it was Hammer bringing him to that point. Couple of good wins for Hammer though doubt he beats any more top ten fighters, not that Price is one
