Matchroom deal with Sky....

Post by Wales »

How is the Matchroom and Sky deal structured? With the premier league Sky pays like 5billion to show the games, but how does it work with Matchroom and them? I think they signed a 6 year contract from 2015-2021 but I don't think it's a yearly lump sum like footy??

Eddie said on Twitter the other day they get a cut of the profits, and made it clear it was on the profit, not the revenue, from fights. I guess Matchroom get out of it exposure on the most viewed platform and promotion.

That's ppv fights. They'll get a fee for standard fight nights.

Mathroom get 20% of all profits from an event... That's after all the boxers and their entourages are paid.
