Boxing Quiz!

Post by Finn »

Ok guys this is for pride the link will take you the sporcle site where you have a limited amount of time to complete a boxing quiz (no ads or click bait stuff).

This is for pride so add your percentage below!!! No fake scores or posting 2nd or 3rd attempts.

https://m.sporcle.com/games/g/boxing_heavyweight

I'm ashamed to say I got brain block and only managed 62% even forgetting a former world champion i saw fight live

Fun quiz. I got 80% of 'em.

Can't believe I actually forgot a few from within my own time as a fan

I was typing in another in the last few seconds, but I misspelled the name and didn't have time to correct myself before I ran out of time. So I would've had a little better than 80% if I'd got that one in on time, but oh well

I like the way the quiz is set up where you can just type it in, and if you're correct it just automatically adds it to the board.

Most of the ones I didn't get I knew when I saw them, there were a few that I wouldn't have gotten no matter how much time they would've given me, but it was all guys that were never THE Champion. Just guys with a belt.

I only got 70 but was doing it on a mobile and spent most of the time trying to spell the names correctly  Reckon I would have done much better on a computer, can't believe some of the ones I didn't get around to.

*Spoilers*
Not happy about not getting Joe Walcott - apparently you have to put 'Jersey' in front of his name to get the point

77%. Quite pleased. Missed a few of the very early ones, struggled with the early 80s and missed a few I should have got from the 90s/00s. Don't know why it includes the IBO, the only IBO champs I got were Lennox, Rahman and Wlad.

84 out of 122. I missed some really easy ones too. I know barely any IBO champions.

That would've been slightly helpful I think, but I'm not sure if it would've made much difference for me except for on one of 'em.

Yeah some of those guys I knew of them I just never knew they had won a title. Jimmy's a prime example, and by the way. It's Johansson

I managed 85 (69%)

The mobile phone and spelling issues scunnered me.

I also spent the first 3 minutes thinking you had to do them in order and spent an age trying to spell Ingomar Johannsen Ingemar Johanson Ingimar johannson

I got 81% on this one.

I filled in the entire years of 2001-2004 and 2016.

I misspelled one of the Thai fighters names so I didn't get that

72% didn't help (and I feel ashamed that I had this wrong) I though it was nelson azuma.

If I had another 10 mins I reckon I could have got 80% but I genuinely hadn't even heard of some of them.

90% (110 out of 122). Like a fool, I missed Marciano and Roy Jones, while getting the obscure ones.

Great quiz - thanks for posting. Are there quizzes for each division, out of interest?
