Guess Calzaghe's Opponent

Post by Old bones Ian »

Who do you think it will be?

You can all guess who Warren will Announce, then guess who Calzaghe will really fight when the first opponent drops out.

I think it will be Pemberton - said it last week and he's been name-checked this week. If he drops out the barrel is in danger of springing a leak from all the scrapping.

Pemberton would be a decent opponent, but he's eminently hittable and two wins - however action-packed - over an increasingly one-dimensional and defense-less Sheika doesn't put you in the elite ranks.

On another note, I'm utterly shocked that the WBO has allowed themselves to be "persuaded" (per the Beeb website article) to forgo enforcement of a defense vs. their mandatory, Veit - tbey're usually such stringent enforcers of their own rules.

That's sarcasm I take it. Christ though, I'd rather have Pemberton that Veit II.

Pemberton is acceptable. Top 10, and is exciting. Calzaghe will probably knock him out but it will be exciting while it lasts.

Grey, the ppicture site you're using appears to have some way of blocking access to pics from forums like this - I can see your pic if Ivcopy the URL into my browser. Anyway, I copied the pic to the site I use, here it is:

-EDIT-

Ah, I see you've done similar yourself. Never mind. Cute pic! Love the ruffled collar. ;)

I think it could be Shaggy, of Scooby-Doo fame, or possibly Gareth, from The Office.

Shwarchkopzx Bnjioherkiopkofhesitrer. It will be Shwarchkopzx Bnjioherkiopkofhesitrer.

Shwarchkopzx is due to fly in the day before the fight, just in time. His preparations are going smoothly. He KO'd Veit in the amateurs. He is bulky, and very tall and thin for a short fat person. His favourite food is crisps. He likes watching Emmerdale. He gets his English cousin to tape each episode and mail them to Burkino Faso, where he lives with ten university student housemates and his grandmother in a hut, although he is originally Latvian.

Yes he's a dangerous guy. He's known as Bnjioherkiopkofhes' for short I believe. Holds five concecutive first round wins over the legendary Igor Knockmesparkoutski, too.

:D

Yes, his Hottentot/Tutsi/Eskimo grandpappy Weisskopzx "Whitey" Bnjioherkiopkofhesitrer Snr. taught young Shwarchkopzx his jab during many long hours of training in that hut. That's how Shwarchkopzx got his nickname "Jab 'o the Hut."

Yet another BoxRec British Forum thread descends into pure lunacy...

...and no, that's not a complaint. We, the loonies, wouldn't have it any other way. ;)

I'd also be happy if it were Don Johnso... I mean, Armand Krajnc.

Bad news, peeps. allegedly's website has confirmed that the Shwarchmeister has pulled out citing a groin transplant and being unable to get a Green card for an american fight he had scheduled for 2009. He is expected to 'carry on training' while his eye heals. Unfortunately, it will take three weeks for his nose to be reconstituted after the sparring incident in which he dislocated his shoulder.

Mario Veit the second is expected to replace him. Damn, I can't stand all these late replacements this year. This has GOT to stop.
