Which are the best "free" newspaper archive sites ?

I noticed not only has google newspaper archives not only stopped digitizing the newspapers anymore,
but they also now seem to have removed and removing a number of newspapers that they once archived from their database as well.
(couldn't even find a single newspaper article on Al "Blue" Lewis there,though i'm sure they were a few as recent as a year or two ago )
so were can a person go to find newspaper articles from yesteryear nowaday for free ?
