I think Fury easely, the Brittish market is simply much much bigger, so despite beïng less popular in his own country, he will probably still win.

I can't see frank waiting to stump up too much cash for it. How many tickets could hughie sell in this country?

All news reports on this seem to suggest the purse bids are today?

If so, Parker. Big sponsorship deals, sells in his own country, first fight as champion. They'll be desperate to win. Despite Warren's 'new dawn' for his stable none of their fights look particularly like those made by someone with serious money to invest, and Hughie is a total unknown. At the prices being discussed for purse bids Warren would either need Hughie to be headlining a full size arena or he'll be paying an astronomical amount for an undercard fight.

Parker is a huge name in NZ but the same cant be said for Hughie over here. If the fight was to happen over here i cant personally see it doing good numbers at all.

I don't think Peter would be bothered where they fight, as long as he can get in.

It would fill a big arena in NZ provided Tyson is on the dais at every press conference. Hughie by comparison is duller than an evening with Phil Neville in a cave lit solely by a damp box of Swan Vesta.

I think Frank needs all the fight he can get for his new BT deal. He simply doesn't have enough names to fill those slots. Hughie might be a boring fighter but he does have a name and this is still a heavy weight title fight. I think FW will be desperate to get it.

Whats with the 60/40 split thought. Shouldn't champ get much more.

Any potential Fury opponent should do their best to achieve this. Their trainer won't ever be allowed in

I doubt Bob Arum would be interested in bidding for a fight between 2 unknown heavyweights in America. He might bidd on Parkers behalf and place it in NZ but certainly not the US

Surely filling the slot is filling the slot regardless of where the fight is? Does 'domestic' fights on his deal count as those featuring a domestic fighter?

Personally I think the timing of this fight could make things look a bit embarrassing for Warren. It'll be in direct comparison with Joshua v Klitschko and by comparison it's going to look absolutely awful. Problem being the army of casuals are either going to take no notice of it, or laugh at it in comparison, and boxing hardcore types are still not going to be able to make any case for the winner being, by a huge margin, the clear weak link in the division.

You have to take into account the time zones. If it was in Europe fine but NZ? Thats an early morning affair and I am not sure if BT would be interested at all.

BT and Queensbury have signed a deal. That doesn't mean BT can say 'oh sorry guys, you've delivered a WT on our channel, but with it being at 10am we aren't interested so won't be giving exposure to our fighter who if he wins will hopefully generate us a lot of views when he defends at home on primetime in the UK.'

Deal doesnt say they will have put whatever crap Frank decides to give them. He needs to deliver the quality, otherwise BT wont be happy, I thought this was obvious.

To be fair, as weak as Parker v Hughie is as a world title fight, it is still a world title fight and even if it's in NZ I'm sure BT can push motocross repeats to one side on a Saturday morning to show it.

Got to be New Zealand. Hughie can't draw a crowd here if this gets added to the April 8th show it won't add to ticket sales.

I think this goes to NZ and they pull out. Also the UKAD hearing it seems is finally happening next week. This could potentially result in a ban and derail the fight.

Yes it is better then nothing. But compare to that if they bring it over to England, put up a big HW title extravaganza. Eddie has HW title fight an they have one. Who knows maybe Parker KOes Fury double quick, then it wont be such a dull affair. Either that or some leisure center joke show like the one last time with fat BJS in it.

Do you have the deal on you?

If the bid takes place the fight will be announced as being on BT sport in the UK. Frank has worse fights than this already announced as being on BT sport.

I dont have a deal thats why I said I was NOT SURE if they take it. It is you who made a definite claim what the deal means. So do YOU have the deal on you?

It's quite an assumption to say that a broadcaster won't going to a show a boxer belonging to the promoter they have a deal with. I don't know of any time this has happened other than when a promoter with another UK tv deal has won a purse bid over a rival promoter.

'Eddie has his title fight and they have one' is like saying you could have a match between Barcelona and Real Madrid in one city on the same night, and at a ground less than quarter of the size in the same city you can also see Watford v Palace. Yes, they're both football matches. But lets not be silly here.

Hughie Parker is never an 'HW title extravaganza.' Hughie is a nobody and everyone's attention is entirely on Joshua Klitschko.

I don't see this going to NZ as a foregone conclusion. IIRC didn't Parker's people have to apply for government funding to get the Ruiz fight? Sure I heard someone on the Boxing Asylum podcast say that. With the new BT deal and the possibility of having a heavyweight champion on his channel, albeit a relatively unknown one, Frank has a very good chance of winning this if he wants it badly enough. The arena and ticket sales would obviously be an issue and he may even end up making a loss on the event, but with his lack of big name fighters and no big signings seemingly imminent, Frank will have to make some long term investments if the content on BT is going to be anything other than the BN schedule on a bigger platform.
