Josh Warrington on the verge of securing fight with former world champion

JOSH WARRINGTON is in line to fight former IBF super-bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on May 13.

The unbeaten featherweight contender was scheduled to fight Marco McCullough, but after that fell through attempts are being made to secure a deal with Martinez.

Decent fight. Warrington probably doesn't have the firepower to stop Kiko but should be able to outwork him in an entertaining fight. Kiko of a few years back would've probably gave Warrington fits but he's had a long hard career and I fancy Warrington to be too fresh and busy. You always know what you're going to get with Martinez and no doubt he'll come to compete hard and ask a few questions of Warrington.

Martinez was good, he's lost a few fights now and is just there to help these younger guys get over.

Style wise this should be an entertaining fight, but I do feel Kiko too small at Featherweight.
