Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Like I said before Teddy Atlas is retarded.
Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Atlas went on the melodramatic "Who? Who? Who?" tirade against GGG because he'd supposedly fought weak opposition and therefore hadn't proven himself as an elite fighter, but now Teddy is going rank Bundu basher Spence? Ya, okay.....seems to me like GGG is someone who Teddy has picked out for unfair treatment.

He must have an agenda. Who's he working for? GGG (well in my mind at least) is an exceptional fighter.crusader wrote:This is the same guy who went on the melodramatic "Who? Who? Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
He basically went off on a philippic about how it's wrong to hype GGG when he hasn't faced top opposition, yet then he goes almost completely on the eye test for other fighters. He's not consistent at all.

Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
One thing I didn't like about GGG is that he looked defeated in his manner, losing rounds to Brook. This is very serious. He looked discouraged
going back to his corner after Brook was tagging him. Don't get mad at me I'm just clarifying what I saw with my eyeballs.

Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
To me he looked like he wasn't taking it that seriously. I never sensed that he was discouraged.
Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Wow Teddy Atlas still exists.
Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Teddy picked Zab to beat Mayweather and Cotto to beat Canelo... who he said killed himself making weight... I knew he didn't viewing it on TV.
Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Golovkin is rated No. 4 pound for pound by BoxRec. If he beats Daniel Jacobs who is No. 2 in the middleweight division, then Atlas cannot say anything about the quality of his opponents. He has been a world champion since 2010.

He couldn't make it through high school, despite coming from an affluent family. In his teens, he beat up and injured his little sister and spent time in reform school for doing it.
He's discredited for every good non-American boxer I can think of, with the exception of his "token" favorite Lomachenko.
Teddy hates Pacquiao, the Klitschkos, Kovalev, etc. so it's no surprise that he hates Golovkin.
People like Donny LaLonde, Michael Grant and Shannon Briggs who he's worked with will tell you he's a nutcase.

I like Teddy. He sounds like an old drunk Uncle i used to have who thought he knew everything because he boxed for like a week and lost an eye. Anyway, Teddy just likes wearing the orange tux to the dance. Ever since Tim Bradley got demolished by Manny and proved Atlas was no miracle worker, he's been dying to get into the news and no better way to do it then by saying something ridiculous.
I love how he uses the Brook fight as a barometer to prove GGG is slipping. Yeah, the fight where he broke the guys head and won by KO midway against an undefeated fighter. Just bc GGG put his hands down when he realized that Brook couldn't hurt him.
I'll be at MSG next month to see this GREAT up close for the first time. Though i think it's GGG's toughest fight, I think that people will start to give him the credit he deserves with a lopsided win over Jacobs. They have no choice but to.

"Teddy Atlas: Why I left Gennady Golovkin off my pound-for-pound list" (Source: ESPN)
In the ESPN article written by Teddy Atlas himself, he explains that pound-for-pound lists are subjective in nature, subject to many variables that are often applied differently by different groups of people, with the most recent performance being instrumental for him to determine ranking placement. He also says that he tries to use cold and fact-oriented criteria, wherever possible, for nomination.
Here are some of the issues that Atlas referred to that explains his personal evaluation of Golovkin’s place amongst his personal pound-for-pound list:
• He may be slipping
• He looked very ordinary at times against Kell Brook, with his technical flaws being evident
• His level of competition has been questionable or at least very advantageous for him
• He has not shown any recent signs of improvement
Personally-speaking, whilst I believe that GGG deserves to be ranked amongst the pound-for-pound top ten, I do concede (based on Golovkin’s performance against Brook) that some of Atlas’ concerns aren’t entirely unreasonable, though I don’t necessarily agree with them, I do understand his viewpoint.

Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
To be fair, he wasn't too far off with the Zab over Floyd pick - he won at least the first three rounds (arguably the 4th too) plus round 12 and should have been credited with a knockdown. The Cotto-Canelo fight was way closer than the judges had it too, so I don't think either was a particularly bad call.Kalan wrote:Teddy picked Zab to beat Mayweather and Cotto to beat Canelo... who he said killed himself making weight... Anyone who tries to discredit Golovkin is a virulent hater - Atlas has shown he is clearly anti white fighters - you're ignorant or blind if you haven't noticed it -man wrote:crawl back in your hole, montreal.montrealsuper wrote:Atlas is an anti white he brew - trying to downplay the greatness of Golovkin proves it yet again -

Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Golovkin is my favourite active fighter. I agree there are definitely some haters out there, but those pointing out the relative weakness of his resume are correct - while I expect him to end up in the HOF, I don't think he's done enough to be considered an ATG yet - though I expect him to get there soon.montrealsuper wrote:Anyone who tries to discredit Golovkin is a virulent hater - Atlas has shown he is clearly anti white fighters - you're ignorant or blind if you haven't noticed it -man wrote:crawl back in your hole, montreal.montrealsuper wrote:Atlas is an anti white he brew - trying to downplay the greatness of Golovkin proves it yet again -

Wasn't that because Mike tried to rape his niece? That is the reason I heard for that incident.TheGingerBomber wrote:Pulled a gun on a 15 year old mike tyson tooFreedom2013 wrote:True.tiny_acres wrote:Like I said before Teddy Atlas is retarded.

Re: According To Teddy Atlas "GGG Not in TOP TEN"
Golovkin can only beat the ones who have the courage to step up- floyd cotto sergio canelo saunders eubank were all scared and in a sense GGG has unofficial wins over all those ducks - Golovkin has looked sensational destroying the entire division -it's conceivable he'd look even better if he was able to face tougher opposition which always inspires the greater performance(s) - Atlas has a political agenda to discredit great white fighers - FuKC Atlas -
