i think it`s nelson mandela.
but the heavyweight amateur champ of his country clue has dented my confidence.
i wouldnt have thought mandela boxed as a heavy, though i do know his hero was joe louis.
secondly i`m not sure if black fighters were allowed to fight for the south african amateur title back then.
oh well, thats my guess
..this was on a trivia test somewhere else over a year ago....and it fooled me then too.
the guy on the right looks like jack "chappie" blackburn. could that be possible? i have no idea where or when the picture was taken. i know a lot of other stuff though, such as the name of ezzard charles's sister in law, for instance.

My mother tells me that Mrs. Charles used a fake name to avoid publicity, but that everyone at the hospital knew who she really was...especially when Ezzard came to visit...she was a patient at Citizen's General Hospital, New Kensington, Pa.....I think she had relatives there...just a little obscure trivia for you....
.gladys gartrel charles was extremely shy about publicity and kept herself away from the boxing world in general, so it's not surprising that she used a nom de.....patient...i guess you'd call it. even when they got married, it was kept a secret for a while. ezzard said it was because he didn't want a fuss made over it or something of the kind....but friends assumed it was really gladys's idea.
the name of the baby....well....think of an obvious name iof you assume it was a boy....
