what will happen when GGG lands his left hook on Danny's chin ?

To me Jacobs seems to have a super delicate jaw on a par with Khan, Audley Harrison and Price jaws. :OhYes:

He has one loss by KO... But Robert Byrd held him down and didn't allow him to even attempt to rise...

If you get hit on the chin with a hard shot you tend to get a reputation as chinny... But Gene Fullmer, Dick Tiger, Sumbu Kalambay, Michael Nunn, and Roberto Duran all got stretched for a single time in their careers.. It's not as if they only fought one puncher.. They were hit real good with well timed shots, and that put them out ... although Fullmer was badly battered and stopped by Tiger in his last fight.. That's a defensive problem and not a chin thing.

He'll counter with some bad uppercut & knock GGG out. Similar to Quillin.

Jacobs in 3.

Or his right hand?

What will happen if Danny Jacobs beats GGG to the punch with a massive combination?

That's why we'll be watching

Jacobs is getting talked up to try and make GGG look better when he inevitably knocks Jacobs out. Jacobs is nothing special, very mediocre boxer with decent power. But I will say he's a tpp guy in a very weak division, so GGG doesn't really have any better options at 160.

What will happen?
The same thing that happened when Pirog caught him with a solid punch.
Jacobs went down, closed his eyes, waited for the ref to count him out then sat up and acted liked the ref stopped the fight too soon.

Jacobs has been through a lot since then. He is not the same person. He will still likely get stopped early though. I am watching for a 3G chin check though.

It's not about that Pirog fight because we all know Pirog was a hell of a fighter. The thing is a pillow-fisted C level fighter like Sergio Mora caught and dropped Jacobs!

What will happen when GGG pumps his bazooka jab and control the distance with his footwork ? Golovkin will be in range and position to land his shots and after Jacobs tastes a hard one, he will be in retreat mode and get busted. :box:

Yup, probably Ouma, Stevens and Murray would look like GGG's toughest fights even if he cleans out the mw division (Jacobs, BJS and Canelo). :box: :D

That's the big unknown in this fight...no one knows how GGG and Jacobs are going to react to big shots. Both will be facing their toughest opponent to date and the biggest puncher they've seen. GGG's chin seems granite but he'd be foolish to drop his hands in this one because DJ has legit MW power.

If DJ plays this fight safe and let's GGG dictate the pace and walk him down then he's dead and it's just a matter of time. I honestly think that DJ's only chance is KO. If I'm him, i'm coming out throwing bombs for as long as it lasts. If he slows plays this one, then it's just a matter of time before GGG lands one on the button.

Yes, Danny's only realistic chance is a KO or Golovkin's cut/injury, but coming out throwing bombs won't be smart. Golovkin will catch him then. The best chance of a KO is to counter Golovkin.

GGG needs to proceed with caution.

He was caught a lot against Brook, compare that to Lemieux who had a rep as a power puncher and Golovkin was patient, showed his skill was too much, jabbed well and set himself up.

I hope he does the same here as a fan.
Think it would be a style to adopt against Canelo too.

Depends on Jacobs attitude, my guess is GGG will adapt to whatever is put in front of him if it goes long haul.
Perhaps Jacobs could do what Brook seemed to do and just go for it and see what happens, I think Jacobs has some bite on him and can get pretty passionate and wound up enough to potentially hurt GGG.
Can he sustain it, depends on his corner and their strategy and Jacobs athletic ability ... you'd be surprised at how a good boxer can be messed about if you can get them behind on the cards.

I wonder how many fights GGG wins by intimidation before the fight even starts like Iron Mike did. Will this end up being one of them? I doubt it. Danny has a lot of pride and he doesn't want to go out like that. That's why i think that this one is going to be a great.

I just hope that whoever wins gets the proper credit for it. If it's Jacobs, they don't say that GGG is over the hill. If it's GGG, they don't say that Jacobs had a glass jaw. These are two fantastic boxers in a unification battle. I love that.

No unification fight! GGG has the real belts, Jacobs has a useless strap!
