Free Korean card (KPBF) this weekend on youtube!

Post by Boxing Prospect »

Probably of interest to about 2 people but still worth making folks aware of (because ...Free Boxing ...right PBC fans?) there will be a Korean card streamed live AND LEGALLY over youtube on Saturday. The link is featured below if yoyu're wanting to watch. It's only a low key card with Korean Rookies but free boxing is still worth making a note of!

I see Hyun-min Yang is on the show. He's an entertaining fighter.

Would this be a good intro into the Korean boxing scene?

I have to say I am certainly interested. Never really considered that they had an active scene.

Not really, it's a bunch of Rookies on the Korean equivalnt to the BIBA/MBC, HOWEVER it's better than nothing right?

The Korean scene is so fornicating fractured at the moment it's hard to say how active it is. There is the KBC, KBF, KBA and KPBF all sanctioning bouts, "Boxing M" seem to be the biggest promoter and haven't clearely selected which body they are going with, the KBF seem to be the most powerful of the bodies but can't seem to keep much momentum going and the KBA have Korea's "only" world champion (Hyun Mi Choi). If the political situation all cleaned up there would be a genuinely good basis for a domestic scene, but with talent spread thin, no money and too much political games it's a total nightmare to follow

Good to know. Maybe I will check back in with this in a couple of years.

I will be sure to check out a couple fights, though. Kind of interested to see what the talent pool looks like.

Style and approach has got to be very different, I would think
