Haskins v Burnett
Haskins v Burnett
Lee Haskins will defend his IBF title against Ryan Burnett in Belfast on June 10th.

Re: Haskins v Burnett
Burnett points I reckon. I might go over for it depending on finances. Got a stag to pay up for July and kids Birthdays all clustered around May/June/July....

Re: Haskins v Burnett
more than likely goes to points.
its a Sky show, in Belfast. Burnett is the hometown fighter on a Hearn show.
Burnett takes this on points, no doubt...

Re: Haskins v Burnett
I remember when Burnett signed with Matchroom, and Hearn telling everyone who great he was and what a fantastic future he had. I'm yet to be convinced by him. Maybe a step up in class will bring the best out of him? At the moment I'd edge towards Haskins on points.
Re: Haskins v Burnett
I'd go with Haskins points at the moment
Haskins is a very awkward customer
Burnett is a quality operator though

Re: Haskins v Burnett
Some guts from Hearn here because this fight could be absolutely dire and ruin Burnetts career.
Haskins fight with Stuart Hall was one of the worst I have ever seen. And Burnett sent me to sleep on the Frampton undercard.
My last point is key because the people that Hearn would be looking to sell tickets to will have been in the crowd that night. Very inter sting how this sells as I am in aware of Burnetts profile in Belfast. He hasn't fought in Northern Ireland for 3.5 years and they were 6 rounders early in his career.
Can it do well at the Odyssey ?
Burnett looks decent but he hurts people and can't finish them. He carried a beyond shot Jason Booth after hurting him very early.
Haskins gets jobbed on cards 100%.

Interesting fight, on paper.
In reality it will likely be a snoozefest.
Haskins will look to spoilt his way to victory, as is his way.
While, I'm sure, Booth will devise one of his tactical plans where Burnett uses feints and short bursts to steal just enough rounds to edge it.
I imagine it will be very close with the winner claiming a 'masterclass' and the loser claiming 'robbery'.

Interesting to see who's on the card. There's a FW card in Belfast a week later. Two fights announced already are Craig Evans vs. Steve Ormond and Jono Carroll vs. Johnny Quigley.Stuffs wrote:Bingo.keirw wrote:Interesting fight, on paper.

Re: Haskins v Burnett
he should have made Burnett v ZZ (hatton's fighter). Stylistically is would be a much better fight. Potentially this could be the most unwatchable fight of the year.
Re: Haskins v Burnett
Don't like Haskins, thinks he is better than he is. Burnett points

Far to early for Burnett imo, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's gifted a hometown decision

Can't see styles gelling here.
I see Haskins being too unorthodox for him. Hope it's not a robbery.

Neither Haskins vs Hall fight was that bad.Naandrew wrote:Haskins fight with Stuart Hall was one of the worst I have ever seen.

Haskins is decent to watch sometimes. Depends who the opponent is. I enjoyed the Jamoye and Iwasa fights.

Re: Haskins v Burnett
Having been in the opposite corner to both fighters with ryan farrag i think that burnett has the edge on this one . Haskins is more awkward and may have a slight advantage in power but burnett is by far the stronger and he is more schooled and in adam booth has a much much better coach. Burnett by stoppage for me
