Frampton v Valdez

Post by Stuarty »

Read a few bits and pieces earlier about this fight being a possibility. I still think it will be Selby or Donaire but I wouldn't mind this at all. This is probably the better fight of all the available options. If Frampton were to fight Valdez then that would clear the path for Selby v Quigg and the winners could square off at the end of the year/start of next year.

Only thing is Valdez just had a hard 12 rounds and Framptons next date is being touted as the beginning of August. Is this enough time for Oscar?

Just can't see it being Valdez. Top rank won't risk it.

Can't see it being Donaire either don't think he wants to fight at feather again and to be honest he doesn't need to fight again had a great career.

That leaves Selby. Still like that fight. Wasn't even expecting Valdez name to come in to it but I like the idea of that fight. Would be fireworks :bag:

Selby has a mandatory.

Will be Barros who he was due to fight but if that falls through it will be Quigg.

If it is at the odyssey against a respectable opponent good chance I'll go. Not expecting someone of Selby, Valdez level.

Odyssey is a great atmosphere. Probably best I've experienced tbh. It's supposed to be at Windsor Park that's why I was thinking someone like Selby. I suppose it would still sell out no matter who it is. Maybe have Josh Taylor in a decent test on the same card.

I've got a stag weekend in July, a stag night in August and a Wedding in September to save for but if I can spare the pennies I'll def go over for it.

Frampton v Valdez would be shocking if it were to come to pass next for both. Seems a bit high risk / low reward for Frampton at this point.

What would be great is if Mares would go to the UK to face Frampton and Quigg or Selby would come over to challenge LSC. Valdez v the winner of tonight's Diaz v Avila would be a huge stepping stone fight.
