Chavez vs Canelo Weigh In Results

Post by Cedric »

Both fighters weigh in under the catchweight limit of 164.5, avoiding the $1 million dollar penalty.
Canelo Alvarez- 164 lbs.

Well that's a good start then.
Jr beat the odds and made weight. Now can he rehydrate enough to beat Canelo?

Jr's back looks very weak. Emaciated, not sure how much bigger/stronger he can get with rehydration. Hope he wins though. This Canelo diva farce needs to end.

Jr doesn't look bad. He's drawn, but not deathly.

Canelo looked in good shape, Chavez Jr looked skinny and bug eyed.
Looks like a good crowd are going to be there tomorrow and it may last as long as Canelo wants it to, unless of course Chavez Jr can pull himself together for a career defining performance.

Canelo looks bulky. Chavez Jr. looks a tad skinny. So it could be offsetting. Can't really see a advantage for either judging by the weigh in pics. Chavez Jr. will probably hydrate more by fight time. Can't really see Canelo hydrating to much.

He actually looked worse last week. That initial cut of water is brutal for some people. I'm glad he looks as good as he does as it should make the fight more interesting.

He looked horrible last week. Granted, his legs really looked bad and there not in these photos.

I can't believe the amount of mainstream sports media coverage the #CaneloChavez weigh-in received & continues to receive. #Boxing is back!

Canelo will at least gain 10, maybe 15.

Usually about 170 isn't he. I don't see him being much more .... it will be interesting to see though. He looks solid there at 164

Chavez looks fine to me. Just looks like a slim fighter. I'll bet he comes in extremely well conditioned. Ironically, it's Canelo's weight preparation that may be cause for worry. I wouldn't be surprised to see a come from behind stoppage win for Jr..

Im not so sure Canelo's weight gain is going to give him more advantage. Canelo is up 9 pounds. I was thinking Canelo should have come in lighter. Like 160 or 162 at the most. Canelo looks kinda like he's square shaped. So it make's the fight more interesting.

Agree. I didn't envisage such a hevay set Canelo on the scales.

Could be a corker this one

Go on admit it ... attacking Chavez Jr's body looks so tempting and easy to break down.
Yes JCC Jr will stack it on overnight but so will Canelo but probably not as much.
If for some reason JCC Jr comes in looking anything remotely close to what he weighed in at it's gonna be a full bodied attack from Canelo at some point.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Canelo was likely around 175 lbs in the ring in his last fights, so why are you surprised that he took full advantage of not severely draining himself this time. He didn't do anything purposefully to come at 164. This weight is way more natural for him than 154. He will still add about 10 pounds in the next 24 hours.
