If Golovkin loses to Canelo, then where he goes ?

If Canelo loses, he is young enough to bounce back but if GGG loses what he should do ? Rematch Jacobs, move at 168 or retire ?
Abel Sanchez has openly admitted that he has no intention of allowing Golovkin to share the ring with Danny Jacobs for another “five or six fights” (his actual words), which is another way of saying that they don't want the fight.apollo creed wrote:If Golovkin loses to Canelo, then where he goes ?
There are several videos on YouTube where Golovkin and his team cited the "154lbs to 175lbs" claims multiple times during the Kell Brook press conferences.gilgamesh wrote:I kinda doubt GGG ever fights beyond 160 pounds. He's a natural middleweight. He and his team always made those claims about fighting bigger men because they were desperate for more notoriety and money making opportunities. Now that the money making opportunities have finally come to him at 160 pounds, I doubt you ever hear any more talk of moving up in weight from him or his team. At least not anytime soon.
How long they want to have GGG fighting ? He's 35 y/o. After 6 fights he's gonna be 36-37 y/o. If they can do a rematch with Canelo then good , if not they should find the best remunerative fight for GGG THEN RETIRE.verlichte wrote:Abel Sanchez has openly admitted that he has no intention of allowing Golovkin to share the ring with Danny Jacobs for another “five or six fights” (his actual words), which is another way of saying that they don't want the fight.apollo creed wrote:If Golovkin loses to Canelo, then where he goes ?
It would be disastrous for Gennady if Jacobs avenged his defeat, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility, as this would mean that Golovkin would have suffered two losses in quick succession. So I don't feel that the rematch would ever happen.
Team GGG have always boasted that Golovkin is physically able to compete from 154lbs to 175lbs, with none of the men in those weight divisions capable of defeating him.
Therefore, if GGG loses to Canelo, it would be long overdue for Gennady Golovkin to finally justify his long-term boasts that he has maintained for at least five years, by making the jump to 168lbs to face the likes of James DeGale or Gilberto Ramirez... or perhaps engage in a 172lbs catch-weight bout against the winner of the Ward-Kovalev rematch.
I think people think he's a HW.... IMO, he's past his prime but will beat Canelo.apollo creed wrote:How long they want to have GGG fighting ? He's 35 y/o. After 6 fights he's gonna be 36-37 y/o. The claim I heard is that nobody from 154-168 can do 12 rounds with him. His trainer. They won't be the first or last to make boasts within boxing.verlichte wrote:Abel Sanchez has openly admitted that he has no intention of allowing Golovkin to share the ring with Danny Jacobs for another “five or six fights” (his actual words), which is another way of saying that they don't want the fight.apollo creed wrote:If Golovkin loses to Canelo, then where he goes ?

It was a legitimate question to ask when GGG fought Jacobs. The man is 6 feet tall and can box and punch slicker than shiitt. But Canelo has stayed away from high level boxers most of his career, because when he faced guys like Lara or Mayweather he got his ass kicked and needs help with the judges, which he gets.. That's what the laughable SD and MD were all about in those fights.. He'll be 27 when he fights GGG and he was 22 when he signed for Floyd -- so he has an extra 5 years of maturity going for him -- and Golovkin is 5 years older.. That's nice -- they tried to get the timing just right.. Golovkin even said, "If I destroy Jacobs he won't fight me. If I struggle with Jacobs he'll fight me." GGG fought his best, but Jacobs is just that good.apollo creed wrote:If Canelo loses, he is young enough to bounce back but if GGG loses what he should do ? Rematch Jacobs, move at 168 or retire ?
What if John is pretty old and could suffer a shoulder injury or another health issue on his way to work? Or even what if he catches a flu which hits him on his way to work?Kalan wrote:It was a legitimate question to ask when GGG fought Jacobs. I think right now Golovkin is going to make this fight happen.. He's going to be at his best and give a virtuoso performance.. Golovkin has one of the best jabs in Boxing.. He has one of best left hooks in Boxing.. He has one of the sharpest right hand counters in Boxing.. He has one of the best body attacks in Boxing.. He's one of the best combination punchers in Boxing.. He's one of the better defenders in Boxing, having never been hurt - and never knocked down in 387 amateur and professional fights.. He's never suffered a bad cut and he's never been knocked wobbly like Mayweather...who was on the verge of being knocked out by an old man.. Canelo was knocked down and hurt by Jose Cotto, not a real good fighter.
The question shouldn't be "What will Triple-G do if he loses." The question should be "What will Canelo do when he loses -- if he actually shows up?"
People posed the question "What will Canelo do if he loses to Chavez?" ... That's like asking "What will Anthony Joshua do if he loses to Eric Molina?"
Anything can happen, but if you eat breakfast and head off for work, chances are you'll get there.. Nobody asks, "What happens if John doesn't show up?”
You're missing my point completely. Nothing is going to happen to John. He going to show up for work like he does every other day. When you shove a loaded clip into a gun that's in good repair.. and it's properly loaded.. once you start pulling the trigger, bullets are going to fly out that barrel. There's not too many things that could go wrong.. If you have a boxing match and one combatant has better boxing and punching skills than the other.. and he also happens to be taller, tougher, more experienced, and has more punching power -- he's pretty much going to win. Nothing is going to go sideways.boxing_rocks wrote:What if John is pretty old and could suffer a shoulder injury or another health issue on his way to work?
