Vijender Singh Terminates His Contract With allegedly

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

New Delhi: WBO Super Middleweight Asia Pacific champion Vijender Singh, who was promoted by IOS Boxing Promotions along with allegedly’s Queensberry Promotions, has decided to terminate his agreement with Queensberry Promotions with immediate effect.

The reason behind terminating this contract is Queensberry Promotions not honoring and delivering their contractual obligations for more than a year. Vijender Singh and Queensberry Promotions entered into an agreement in the mid of year 2015, Vijender has now decided to end the agreement and stay only and exclusively with IOS Boxing Promotions. From here on IOS will be responsible for future associations and promotions of Vijender Singh.

The first six UK fights were promoted by Queensberry fights in UK and two title fights in India were promoted by IOS Boxing Promotions. Vijender Singh remains undefeated in the professional circuit at 8-0, and has reached a world ranking of No.10 in the WBO rankings.

Commenting on this Vijender Singh said, “Yes, it is true that I have decided to end my agreement with Queensberry promotions. For future fights I am in discussions with my current promoter IOS Boxing Promotions. There were a lot of things that Queensberry Promotions had committed to me as part of their contractual obligations, but failed to deliver. I have had a very good career with them, but not fulfilling what you commit is something I don’t agree with. Maybe in future, Queensberry and I work together, but as of now I am only working with IOS Boxing Promotions. I am looking forward to have my next fight in July 2017 in Mumbai promoted by IOS.”

Not sure if this is a good move or a bad move. Depends on what his options are. I'm sure he won't be short on offers. It's a pity because I enjoyed watching him and was looking forward to watching him progress. He's nothing special but he has talent.

Perhaps Fast Car will fancy taking him on and have a bash at cracking it in India.

Hasn’t Amir Khan launched the Super Boxing League in India and he said the following yesterday:

"I don't mind if Vijender wants it, we want to promote SBL. This league we are bringing to India and this is my league basically, lets us do it. Every fight is serious for me, whenever you step in the boxing ring, it is war. There is no exhibition fight ever in boxing," Boxing Scene quoted Khan as saying.

I wonder if this could be related?

I wouldn't put this kind of nonsense past Khan. Shouts his mouth off about Thurman, Garcia etc then fights an Indian novice! I would laugh my bollocks off if the novice chinned him :bag: Singh looks a big middleweight as well.

He's definitely a big middleweight then

I think you're right mate. He fought Kerry Hope last year for some ranking title at 168. I'm sure he started his first few fights at 160 though.

I've never watched him but it's one of them, isn't it? Pakistan vs India, have it over there somewhere at a catchweight. They're not boxing nations so nobody will really understand the weight thing, and there's bloody millions of them so I'm sure it would do big business. But just from having spent a bit of time over there, they could not give a flying fornicate about boxing. They're not fighting people. something like this would be the only way to sell it to them.

Nobody else would give a sh*t, though.
